That's pretty scary. The real question is, did someone lose a tire on the freeway? Or was it possibly on the side of the road and someone managed to hit it?

Yeah, now that I think about it, it's super scary.. if it came from the head on, it could have been A LOT worse. I just saw something black coming from the side and hit it super fast.

So I drove an FX35 today since a really nice pre owned example showed up locally. It was a 2011 with 52k for 27k.
The fiancée really likes them, so I'm hoping to sway her into it. Anything but another fucking Avalon.
Hell, if I owed a little less on my car, I would've came home with it for me.
Paging twiggy: how has your FX50 been?

On top of that, that seems like a high miles for $27k.

Gas in the FX50 is what it is...not great. But, I knew that when I got the V8 variant and so, in your case with the 35, you should be just fine.
Now, the caveats: Given the technology crammed into the car, I've had to deal with small hiccups such as the SES light turning on seemingly after a big temperature change in weather AND after it the car was exposed to water (i.e. rain or a wash). They could not really explain it but after several visits, and updates to the firmware as well as replacement of parts, the light has not been on for the last 1.5 years...but, otherwise, it was an annoying light that'd blink on during my first 4 years of ownership. It did not impact the performance or ability to drive the car though. But, if you're neurotic like me, you can see how that'd drive me bonkers.
The 4-way camera is tits. I don't know how I parked a car without this feature before.

Tests show 87 octane costs the EB Mustang about 11% in HP and TQ. I'm wondering if that is part of why the car felt a little sluggish. Filled up with 93 but winter is here

yeah based on weight, I wouldn't have expected the Hellcat to be able to beat the Z06 on a roll like that. And keep in mind it's only got some 50 more hp which isn't a helluva lot at that level. Surely not enough to overcome the weight difference.

It's super clean, so I'm hoping she goes for it. She's just afraid of stepping up into a premium brand. I told her it would be better than a CLA or 3-series like she wants.

I don't care if Z06 is slower than Hellcat in a straightline by couple car lengths. I would take the Z06 ANYDAY.

I've read the term "Swiss Army Knife" used to describe this car on a few occasions, and I'd have to say that's probably the perfect way of describing it. It's a really fascinating piece of machinery, imo. I didn't really focus on the luxury aspect of it, so at first impressions, it's alright. My mind was more focused on grasping that this is supposed to be a luxury sedan that happens to have a throaty supercharged V8 with a manual bolted for extra oomph. It's one thing to read about the car & this blend on the web, but it feels somewhat entirely different to actually drive it.
It's not a novice car by any means, but if you have any grasp of footwork, it's not hard, either which leaves me incredibly impressed that a 552Hp car has such a tolerable clutch. To me, it has a lot of give so you can gauge it pretty well, though in turn, it is easy to end up riding if you're not aware. But, for comparison's sake, I haven't been in a Vette yet that didn't give me the same satisfaction in this area; it usually was a case of, once you let the clutch out, you need to pay close attention else it'd stall without warning. The V just has this really, really nice feeling that again, a car with this much power doesn't fuss.
Driving it is as anyone here expects. It's docile at low rpm's, & the supercharger comes alive at I'd say, 3500-4000; I jumped on it in 2nd and it picked up fast enough without hesitation. Rides pretty similar to the Acura. It's smooth, but firm over bumps. The main thing I still need to get through is reading up on the maintenance work on a V per year, & getting a feel for it on the street & highway on a proper test drive.
I also have to come to terms if this is what I really want. On one hand, this car makes it a lot easier to let the Acura go because there's no point in owning 2 sedans. On the other, my dream car is still the Z06 & it's within' reach as soon as the Acura's last $6K is done. But on the other hand again, this is essentially, a Z06 in a 4-door's body as a friend said.![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
So, to make it short, I'm still going to push through as our finance department has already given me a run down on what it'll end up costing me, and it's doable. It's just a matter of getting the pre-owned guys to match it which should be a done deal if we follow the company outline.

Was the Vette auto or stick? Maybe bad shifts?
All manuals. An auto Vette sounds about as exciting as getting teeth pulled lol.
2 were Grand Sports & 3 were Zs. The clutch travel in the GS' was somewhat similar to the V, but they weren't as forgiving if you let out too much. The V wouldn't start to stall until you were pretty much off the clutch and by that point, it would be well in motion. It basically just has a lot of leeway.
The Z06s were pretty rough at being smooth with. The whole car starts to kind of shudder with a little travel. But, I've read on a few forums that it's normal & just how the car is. Some people swear if you remove a spring, it becomes easier to gauge and some think the spring is absolutely necessary. Most switch it out with a spring from a C5Z and call it a day.
Of course again, I'm pretty rusty so my biggest thing every time isn't worrying so much about the clutch but the right amount of gas so I don't end up in a pole. So yeah, possibly bad shifting on my end. :P It doesn't bother me though with the Corvettes. Should one ever fall in my lap, it'd be a weekend toy and brought out in low traffic; enough to learn the ins and outs without worry.

yeah, the underlying confirmation is that the new Z06 isn't as fast as it was expected to be. Straight-line, that is. I mean the C6ZR1 is a good bit faster, for comparison. It's a monster in terms of handling though.
Chapter Leader (Southern Region)
C&D says it's fast.. they said they couldn't get good numbers with the MT though, but blamed it on a couple of factors. They did say that they think they can get better numbers from it..

So, I'm hoping you guys can help me with a car problem. The Accord is making a noise generally not associated with a well-running car. Coming from the right front wheel area.
It's a non-constant, low-pitched dragging sound. Started 2 days ago (500 miles). It's since gotten a little louder and now happens almost all the time, but same characteristics.
I tugged the wheel left/right and up/down. No wiggle, so I don't think it's a wheel bearing. Car doesn't pull to the right, and brake pedal doesn't feel any different, so I don't think it's a stuck caliper (plus the noise goes away under braking). I bent back the brake dust shield, thinking something got caught in between. No difference. Inner and outer CV boots are intact.
Any ideas??
