Hi all,
new to this community. i am trying to install a Honda ispire jcm engine into my 1999 Acura TL
My Question is what go i need to change on the jdm before i put it in the 99 TL
any help will be much appreciated

I've been in the market for a year now. Prices haven't budged. Almost bit on two..been really looking for a ultrasonic blue <50k one. The first one I was interested in was from the first owner, 30k for $33k. The other was salvage, but beautifully put together with headers, catback, intake and some other goodies for $25k ($10k in mods). Considering I'd own it until the wheels fell off.. I was seriously considering it.
ISF's are super reliable. But for 5-10k less, you can get a 07-08 E/C/CL63 AMG or E9x M3. The ISF engine is exotic in the sense that it was based on the LS600h design and redone for the RCF so parts and knowledge of it aren't readily available / well known. For the same money you can also get a 2012 Charger / 300 SRT. Sure it's Dodge / Chrysler, but they're pretty freaking nice inside.. and hoonish.. plus just as reliable and cheaper to work on.
For reason, I thought a wagon/Avant was very important to you?
I have the Accord coming from my sister so that takes care of the dogs, bike rack, etc ... There really isn't anything in the wagon space that particularly compels me. I like the V60 a lot but I just don't want to pay $40K for a car. The older 3-series wagons really don't do it for me because I just don't like BMW. The Audis are heavy and slow and too big for DC parking garages. So I'm looking at other things and waiting to see if VW releases a proper Sportwagen next year.

I was just reading about the RC-F and one of the comments they made about the IS-F was that it didn't really become a good all around sports car until 2011+ ... That it was just a fast Lexus before that. 2011s are $40K plus which is too much for me to justify. But I do like the idea of them because they are generally reliable and well built cars that I can keep for a while. The M3 and the S5 bother me because they both have the potential to ruin my year with stupid repairs and maintenance like $800 BMW batteries.

I agree. The new wagons look great. I'd be happy with a V60 T6 R-Design but that's a $50K car that uses an old engine and transmission. It just doesn't make a lot of sense.
So I keep waiting to see what VW is going to do with the Golf R and Sportwagen, knowing that the Ecoboost Mustang and GT are out there and I can get A-plan pricing on them through work. In the meantime, I see all sorts of cars that look like fun but I wouldn't want to own them.

Dealer says "X and Y need to be replaced but because you bought a Jiffy Boys battery, BMW won't cover it. You need a certified BMW battery. That will be $800 plus the other parts that need to be fixed."

The more and more I learn about German cars, the less I want one. I like the innovations they're constantly pushing out. On the other hand, there are so many problems from answers to questions that nobody asked.
I can buy a weight saving lithium iron battery (~25 lbs less) with nearly the same reserve capacity as stock and it's accompanying special charger for less than half of that.
At this point German car I would only get a Cayman S, in manual only. Or something older, or less complicated. I'm also spoiled... only I wrench on my car or I have friends that know how.

You can still do stuff on the German car to a point. Unless you get the special carbon ceramic brakes but they also use them for TPS for the run-flats so there's a special $1500 tool that you need to ...
For what Lexus is, that design makes sense. It shouts "Don't touch things you don't know about. Let us service it for you."
And that's exactly what people who drive a Lexus want. A really nice appliance.
Either that or a better handling, nicer looking Acura.

lol, I'm sure you're all aware of BMW's cooling system, how should we say it, shortcomings right? How about the design for the cooling system in the S55 (M3/M4 motor)? Are you sitting down? The S55 cooling system consists of:
TWO expansion tanks
1. engine coolant system
2. charge air coolant system
Wait, two expansion tanks? Well, how much worse can it get? Keep reading.
FOUR water pumps
1. mechanical pump for engine coolant
2. electric pump for auxiliary turbo cooling
3. electric pump for charge air cooling
4. electric pump for interior heat
...four...water...pumps
EIGHT radiators/heat exchangers
1. charge air
2. upstream charge air
3. indirect charge air
4. engine coolant
5. upstream engine coolant
6. heater core
7. engine oil
8. M DCT transmission oil
I bet this thing will be super cheap to keep on the road when the warranty expires.
and people wonder why Germans can't make a reliable car? because they do not care! Reliability is definitely not their priority with the way they tend to over engineering everything.

Is it really "over-engineered" when you get the kind of performance that they deliver? It may be very complex, but it seems today's market for these cars demands a level of performance and precision which drives this level of complexity.
Granted, it's not going to be as easy to work on as a '65 Beetle, but it wasn't made to be that way.
Please don't tell me the Cayman (981) doesn't have any dumb issues like the IMS bearing failures...

I would never buy a German car. I'd definitely lease a BMW or a Panamera. The only car I'd buy would be a 911, and only if I have my own lift and tools and beat the living crap out of it every weekend at the track.
