Link? At least the DSG is good enough for most manual enthusiasts to at least consider.

So there's nothing official about the B9 yet but the word on the street is that the B9 won't have a manual transmission. The R8 has already been confirmed to be DSG/R-Tronic only. I don't know if the next TT will get a manual transmission.
I think VWAG is getting away from building manual transmissions in this region. They are building more cars in North America than ever before and I think they just want to go to one transmission for CAFE/NHTSA/Manufacturing reasons.
I think it's a mistake as manual transmission sales seem to be increasing but the future may be SMG/DSG gearboxes and no more manuals.

I have driven a new A4 and a new VW GTI w/DSG. My personal preference would be the MT, but the DSG was shifting a hell of a lot faster than I could. Plus it was usually in the right gear at the right time (or put there when I needed it). I understand why VWAG would do it, but it really is disappointing.

Our lovely LFA back in the showroom today, so I'll be bringing the camera to work again.
Also received an email todat detailing the running of the bulls event. It's being held at MSR this year & will showcase the RC & NX, plus the SUVs creator. But, Lexus is trying to get in as many as possible, so shooting for an opening to be registered to go.

Super random, but I was on Google Earth looking at the Topgear test track and they've managed to get a street view car on the track. What's even cooler than that is that around the area where the tires are on the track, right before the straightaway, the streetview car is being followed by a white SLS Black driven by none other than the Stig.

So I'm building a 911 Carrera S on Porsche's Canadian website knowing of their reputation for crazy options pricing. This one stood out though.
Painted air vents: $1,820.
Just wanted to leave that there.
EDIT: Wait, wait! That's just the trim around the air vents. Painting the actual air vent slats? Another $1,820. That is a total of $3,640. For air vents painted a different colour.
Who the f*** pays money for that?

I've said this a few times before, but a knowledgeable friend of mine said that Porsche is the most profitable automaker, on a per-car sold basis.

I should elaborate that that section is the linking spot between our service area & the actual showroom which is divided into 2 parts; 6 cars on both sides with the finance office in the middle.

The area behind the LFA is main waiting area, and next to it opposite the TVs is a wall with private computer booths. On the other side of the wall, is an area for service clients waiting on their cars as well.

Dayum. I can't wait to see one of those in person.
And Rick... your dealership waiting area looks more like a condo than a wait room. And I mean that as a compliment.

So apparently there's a batch of turbos that are bad that have caused Golf Rs to eat their engines. Not sure how widespread it is but fortunately, this happened before I tried to buy one
Though if Volvo brings their 295hp T6 turbo-4 to the V60 I may end up going that route instead.
I don't think I'm going to buy an Allroad. I'm still going to go test drive it but a part of me doesn't want to trade performance for comfort just yet.

It used to but they're replacing all the old engines with new four cylinders. There's a couple of different iterations of their new Drive-E engines:
There's a 240hp turbo-4 and a 300hp supercharged and turbocharged 4-banger ... The T5 is the 240hp engine and the T6 is the 300hp one.
The 2015.5 S60s have the new engines. They close in hp but are almost 30% more economical on the highway. For some reason though, the V60s don't have the new T6 engines yet.

Twincharged T4 would be interesting.
