Maybe if you stopped squealing like a little schoolgirl at a Justin Beaver concernt when you're giving the car some gas, he wouldn't be calling you that.

At times, that lovely section is a blend between Car Talk and the model-specific denizens.

and FWIW Yummy, I am no SUV fan, but I always liked the FX styling.

Yup...check the S2000 thread in Automotive News. But, it's mostly venom and spew.

An old family friend of ours who sold us a couple BMWs when he was still working for them referred me an E39 M5 he thought I'd like.

Of course I like it, dammit. Just a bit pricey for me to actually considering traveling to see it. I ended up looking locally & there's only 3-4, none with mileage I'd like. What's worse, trying to find a low mileage one is impossible. Low mileage for these cars looks like 60,000. Try to find one lower & you'll end up spending $50-60,000 because they're all brand new cars under 5K.

$50,000-$60,000 for an E39?

I know they're awesome, but I've seen good examples go for $25k in the past few years, and I thought that was pricey.

On a sort of tangent from that, does anyone find that inflated prices of previously cheap, fun cars takes away from their appeal?

I think cars like Fox body Mustangs, E30s, 240SXs, etc. are really fun cars. But some of the prices that owners are asking I wouldn't pay if I were a millionaire.

I would say that those cars are expensive because they're drawing a particular person that will pay it. Objectively, none of those cars are worth the money they're being sold for ... Like '85-'86 E30 325s for $4000. Nothing special ... Not even 325is cars ... Just 325 autos and 325e cars. It's ridiculous.

You could get an '02 Miata (albeit 140k miles) in good shape for a little more than $4000. And I would have a lot more confidence in that Miata going another 100k with minimal maintenance/modernization than an '87 Mustang GT or a '85 325e.

My brother alerted me to the rising price of used cars. With prices rising for everything, people hang onto their cars to save money, which means less supply, more demand. I dunno about that M5, even though it's my favorite generation... that's $$$$ for a car that old. Didn't they cost about that much when new?

Cars with a niche enthusiast interest - Miata, 240sx, S2000, etc. even though not necessarily low production will rise especially because of demand.

The only reason there's a few examples that high is because as I said, they're literally brand new cars. Most of them have under 5,000 miles and are 1 owner cars.
EAG has 2 E39s for $60,000+; one at 6,500 miles & then this one at 4,000.

$67,990.

Because everyone thinks theirs is something special. 240s were bad a decade or so ago, and they've finally died down.

I haven't seen that many E30s over priced unless of course, it's the well beloved M3.

The E39 M5 is likely my favorite BMW, just ahead of the E30.
Can't imagine owning one, maintenance costs-wise. But would love to drive one.

So the key to BMW ownership is to never drive it.

I'd be concerned that issues developed from not being driven.

i was just at Carmax.

Saw a LBP 06 s2000 (first thought it was the one that i sold) but it wasn't

with 51k miles $23999

The car lost $6000 in 8 years......

For reference, i bought my CPO 07 LBP in 2010 from Honda dealer for $22500 with 29k miles. It is going up in value now!

If it was from anyone else, I would be as well. But, EAG is very good about providing all the information you could ever want on each vehicle, and many are repeat clients who trade back in for something else.

They've had a couple really cool E36 track cars as well, but won't let them go.

It snowed here this morning. The ground was too warm for it to stick, though.

But it snowed.

[h=1]New Pagani Zonda LM Spotted[/h] Sebastian May 17, 2014 1

The Pagani Zonda has been out of production for quite sometime as AMG had stopped supplying their naturally aspirated 7.3 liter V12 engines. But that didn´t stop Pagani from building new Zondas for interested clients! Recent ones like the 760RS, 760LH or the 760PS have been sold not too long ago. Looking at the image above, we believe that the Zonda lineup will probably never die.

This new Zonda, which had been spotted at the factory, sports a huge rear wing and the air intakes from the Zonda Cinque. It also features an upgraded engine, and the initials “LM” on the side profile of the car. This has us wondering whether the car is based on an old Zonda LM race car that was owned by a Russian, or it could also be the initials of its new owner.

It's awesome that they're still building the Zonda, even in limited numbers. I still prefer it over the Huayra.

Autoblog had some nice things to say about the Ecoboost Mustang. While it would be more than the base V6, I would definitely get the 2.3 Ecoboost over the 3.7 V6. 305hp/300lb-ft.

Obviously the GT is the top dog but I would imagine with a good tune that Ecoboost should easily hit 350hp without any changes to the hardware.

Great thing about Zondas is they don't have to build new ones for clients to create these new models. Several Zondas have been updated over the years to have Cinque/F features. Could be the next F1 in this regard.

Hmm 15 PSI, that's less than the 2.0EB we have.

Our pilot demonstrated shifting in both automatic and manual modes, which features nifty rev-matching throttle-blips, and it never felt sharp, harsh or tiringly aggressive.
I definitely agree a simple tune will bring out much more power, as we've seen in our cars.

However, maybe it's the fact that I already own a turbo-4, but if I was buying a Mustang, I would only consider the 5.0. If I had to wait longer to save up enough for the difference in price, it would be worth it.

I love the options in the lineup, but if I didn't get the Coyote I would probably regret it.
