^ Would it make you feel better if the AM was stuffed with parts from India/Sri Lank instead?
Wow.
You're not getting my snarking, are you? The serious part of my post was written below the Apple example. I did say "But seriously"...

I wonder what repercussions there will be from this.

This is 3 levels down in the supply chain for Aston Martin...hence why it was over-looked. Good thing no one was hurt.

Its pretty common for the OEMs to have parts made overseas. Nothing new there.
They hired the Chinese contractors but the problem was that they were using crap material.
Aston Martin found that Shenzhen Kexiang Mould Tool Co Limited, a Chinese subcontractor that moulds the affected accelerator pedal arms, was using counterfeit DuPont plastic material, according to documents filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Yeah, let's not go there.
R&P coming into here will be worse than us accusing each other of reposts.
Let's just say that it was not a fine moment when a company was not diligent in their homework from their downstream supplier. If they were aware, shame on them for being short-sighted enough to think they could get away with such a cost-cutting corner. No one was hurt, so, likely no significant lawsuits for death and injury...not saying there won't be litigation...
But, think of this: While nothing failed in the AMs, we have regular OEM parts failing everywhere in cars of all sorts. So, where's the foul and outrage per se? Just the other side of the coin.

This has nothing to do with Chinese.
If Aston outsource parts to China. It is Aston's responsibility to monitor QC and Audit to make sure the quality is up to their standard. That is the definition of outsourced OEM.
Every step from material, drawing, inspection and final approval should have been approved by Aston.
Example, Apple products. Even though it is made in China, but the SOPs, quality and final products are all based on Apple's specs/requirement. Not the manuf. that produced them.

Good point, ooyeswindyoo...Ultimately, it falls on AM to do their due diligence.
So, really, it's the white people's fault!
Blame the Chinese...*mutters*

Our company does a lot of OEM stuff, so if something goes wrong, it is OUR fault.
Even if the manuf. did use counterfeit parts, ultimately it is still Aston's fault.

They should have caught it before the product is released.
That only shows their lack of QC and whoever at Aston approved the counterfeit parts should be fired.

Just got my Chemical Guy cleaner/conditioner combo and tried the cleaner on my Avant.
Holy crap, I had to wash the microfiber towel like 4 times just cleaning all seats and steering wheel. WOW, couldn't believe how dirty it was. The steering wheel was the dirtiest place. Had to use the cleaner 3 times just to clean that crap. It was so dirty.
I'm going to clean it one more time and apply the conditioner. Think it's still dirty.

I wouldn't mind a 968.

The person who wrote that article must have never seen a 968, let alone driven one. The engine is up front, a proper Porsche engineered 3.0 I-4 with about 230 hp. Seriously, just an absolute blast to drive. 50/50 weight distribution with the trans in the rear and can light up even sticky rears.
Sorry, I absolutely adore mine, and seriously never plan on giving it up. They're so rare you can sit one next to any other newer 911 and have everyone in your ear. Plus, they have pop up headlights. Women dig pop up headlights

I would LOVE to try driving that.
Good news: Insurance settlement on the Jetta is $1500 more than I paid for it.
