Costco, I'm assuming you've driven the Mk6 GTI?
Any thought of the Mk7? Supposed to be a much better car all around (and the Mk6 was no slouch). The current GTI starts at just under $26K for the Wolfsburg Edition GTI.

Well, maybe it's a good price. Sure beats 34.50%.

Yes, I really like them. My friend has one though, would be kind of weird for us to both have the same car.
I wouldn't want one out of warranty though
I mentioned that, but only maybe an NA/NB as a toy. I want a small, light car, but I'd like four doors.
I'm itching for a car like, now. Plus while the Ecoboost and V6 Stang will be great, I couldn't do it while the Coyote 5.0 exists as an option. I probably will get one in a few years if it ages well... I'm in love with the 2015's looks. I'll compromise and get a coupe if it means getting a fire-breathing V8.
I am the yellowneck, after all. dat dere thang gotta have a Hemi
Good idea! I have a hookup with Toyota as well!
... but it doesn't come in manual
I've always thought GTIs were great, well rounded cars ever since the MK VI. I'm also not crazy about the styling... it's like they've taken Porsche's method of minor changes with each generation, and it makes it look boring IMO.
I don't know what it is. German cars are great, but they lack... the character I'm looking for? I loved driving my buddy's GTI, perfect daily driver. It just didn't stir anything inside of me. An APR-tuned one might change my mind.

A bone stock GTI is very vanilla.
If you are going to mod the car, don't worry too much about the vanilla-ness of the stock GTI. Mods wake up the character.
There's only one thing that keeps me away from GTI and R is the reliability issue. Other than that, it's a fantastic DD hatchback.

It's too bad that small cars don't sell here. The new Polo looks great. Apparently, they've been able to get the 1.4 TDI with 90HP to 73mpg (US). The interior looks good too. If you get the DSG, it's still in the upper 60mpg range. It'd be a hell of a commuter car.

So, there's a good chance that in a few years, this F-Type may be quite affordable.

The only caveat is if Jags are a PiTA to maintain...I know some models are literally cursed. So...

Dropped off our Avant at the dealer for 35k miles service this morning.
Wish Audi would bring more Avants to the states.

Btw I did see one F Type on the freeway so far.
It definitely stands out from the traffic. Thought it was glowing or something.
What a stunning design.

Yes, yes, yes.
I was in love with the concept when I first saw it. Absolutely smitten when I got to see it in person at a car show.
Whoever designed it, I'd like to shake their hand.

Costco - How do you feel about the RX-8?

ew no go on RX8!

I love so many things about the RX-8. The shifters in Mazdas in general are always great. I love the rotary - but I also hate it. Turrible gas mileage. Apex seals. But it compels you to wring it out..
Another thing I should have noted, that I need to confirm, but Fiestas, even the ST, have 0% financing up to 60 months, and $500 cash back. My credit rating is pretty damn amazing, so I'm not worried about not qualifying. Otherwise I would only look for used cars.
The Corvette financing rate on the other hand

The two finalists on my very short list are the Fiesta ST and Mazda 6. They both have everything I'm looking for, and I really like the styling on both. I have driven neither, but once I get everything together, I'll go and test drive a few...
The new Accord is really nice. I didn't drive a manual one... but to think many reviewers think the 6 is even more athletic is relatively impressive.
Test drive list so far... GTI, BRZ, Miata
S2000 is a dark horse candidate. While I like open-air motoring, I'd need a hardtop ASAP, paranoid about seat theft in my area. Plus I dunno if I want to daily one. It's one of the few cars I've wanted since it's come out and still do want... plus the price is right.
My big problem is I don't want to have too big of a compromise in my daily. I want to drive and have fun, and not have to worry about much. Driving my old Camaro daily just tired me out.

I am in no hurry to buy. It's just an itch that no cream or pill will fix...
There are some things I need to sort out first.
when did I mention that RWD was a requirement?
This is supposed to be a daily damn it I don't have a garage nor the willpower to do an LSx swap. If I could though, it would be in an RX-7 or some other car, not an RX-8.
