G35 vs. TL-Type-S

So I met a buddy for dinner last night. I hadn't seen him in a few months and he recently bought a new G35. We decided to meet and compare rides. He pulled up and I was impressed with the sleek look of the car, black on black -- the car definitely looked great and it sure sounded fast. However, once we started comparing and critiquing, I was pleased to see that he was in awe of my interior. He paid for all sorts of extras and to be honest, the G35's interior looked like the interior of my girlfriend's old 240sx. It didn't look cheap per se, but there wasn't anything in there that wowed me.

Once he jumped into my car and I started showing off all the features of the Navi, voice activated systems and all that jazz, he got quiet. I could see in his face that he was impressed and wanted to ditch his G35 ASAP.

I mean overall if we get into the world of value, I don't think you can beat the new TLs. He paid more and got much less in my opinion. We ate and quickly and hit the streets. He's a cautious driver so I ended up taking him in almost every run. We were talking the entire time via our hands-free setups, it was hilarious. I'm pretty happy I went with the TL Type-S, I never really entertained the G35, but I came close to going the Lexus way.

they're both great cars, imo.

if you want to see what others think, there are several LARGE threads that compare the two.

I don't see the value of the TL-S over the G in terms of performance. The G stickers for, what, $1000 less, and offers more performance and RWD. Both cars are great, but $38K for the TL-S is too much, imo. And just because you beat a guy who wasn't driving his car to its max, doesn't mean the TL outperforms the G. Put two drivers of equal ability in the cars then see what happens.

Searching is your friend . I'm going to close this before it turns into another pissing match.

Below are some topics I found by searching for Infiniti and all contain info regarding either the G35, or a comparo of the G35 with another car, including the TL. The search took about two seconds. Happy reading!!
