Best Luxury AWD car?

Was wondering what people thought was the best luxury awd car on the market. Namely either the Infiniti G35, Audi A4, Lexus IS 250, BMW 328 or Mercedes c280. Thanks for everybody's opinions. Also, performance is not a big concern for me as I don't plan on racing or maxing out the car to just commute to work.

I would say the IS250, the materials they use are top notch.

Just make sure to get the wood trim near the shifter since that makes it much nicer. IMO

Car feels solid and the cabin is very quiet too.

I'd have to go with an A8 myself if we were talking about the "Best Luxury AWD car".
However I think this guy is looking for something a little more...entry-level, shall we say.

I'd go with the G35x or IS250 out of your list

On more practical terms, G35X with woodgrain and Navi.

J/K, In that group I think the Infiniti has 300+ hp as standard where the other cars have low low 200's, get your moneys worth and look at Infinitis site with the G35 and wood trim pics, can't find them anywhere else. Those other selections are slower than hybrids.

I would take a C320 with 4matic, but not a C280. The 4matic is killer in the snow and crappy weather.

So you would take a 4matic, yet you say the 4matic is crappy in the snow/rain/etc, why bother?

Try she, first, and yes, let me clear things up. The MB 4 matic is a very strong and steady car in inclement weather

Thanks for everybody's thoughts. Basically I am looking for the best entry level luxury awd car. Though some of your opinions on certain cars I agree with the list I have up is the most realistic cars that I can afford. Thanks for your opinions. Any more is appreciated.

If your looking for AWD in that price range I would say diffenently take the audi very seriously. They say Quattro is very good and handles very well.

I'd have to go with the G35X. It's bigger than the IS250, and it's pretty reasonably priced.

the BMW starts at $34,300 and the Infiniti starts at $33,950. for me, it'd be a tie between the two until you factored in that BMW has free maintenance for the first 4 years and then it'd become obvious which one i'd choose.

def a sweet ride, but its going to take another generation or two to really start rivaling the interior quality of the others in that list. its nice, but just not there yet. on the flip side the lgt owns all those cars mentioned in overall performance.

since toyota now owns a part of them, perhaps interior quality will go up. the drivetrain is already built like a tank. its prob the best bang for the $$$ out there right now aside from the ms6s they are trying to get rid of. the 2008 body refresh is horrible!!!! usdm regulations kill the bumpers. jdm is so sweet.

if i had to pick a car off that list based on awd i say audi hands down and then the RL. but def get rid of that audi b4 the warrenty is up.

peace

Thanks but I can't afford either the M35x or other Audi's other than the A4. Just looking for an entry level awd luxury car. Thanks!

Depending whether or not you have the cash. I would say for around 30-40k, you can't go wrong with 07 G35X or the A4 3.2. RL is nice too but i am not sure how much for go for.

If I were in your boat, I'd pick up a pre-owned 05+ RL. Incredible bang for the buck, and the AWD system is incredible. Overall, the RL is an incredible car--much better than the entry-level luxury cars you listed, in my opinion.

Of the cars you have on your list, I would choose either a G35x or an A4. Suprisingly, I wasn't impressed with the interior quality of the IS. The one I was in had the aluminum trim, which appeared to be painted plastic and not real aluminum. I LOVE Lexus interiors, but was disappointed with the IS. Plus I found it to be very cramped inside. I would also consider a Subie as well if I was in the market for an AWD. Test drive all the cars on your list and take it from there. Good luck shopping.

Here is a pic of the woodgrain in the G.

sick! i was never of a fan of the G's interior and even though the new design is better, it's still nothing special. ehh....that wood grain really is awful looking.

out of all those cars you listed, i'd rather sit in this everyday than any others...

For extravagent spending the best AWD luxury sedan I would go either Audi S4 sedan or Mercedes Benz S550 4 matic sedan

For reality spending I would go with the Infiniti G35x or BMW 328xi.

If I was going to get a G35x I'm sorry, but I wouldn't get the wood grain in it. It does look cheap. They should've coated it and made it like the wood grain like I've seen in BMW's, Mercedes, and even Acuras.

Infiniti went with the matte look as opposed to the glossy look like everyone else. It does look better in person than in picturs I find. I don't mind the G's wood trim, but I like the aluminum trim much better.

Its a linsead oil type finish, which I like and looks MUCH better in person... but I still like the washi aluminum finish better and that looks like crap in most pictures as well.

Best entry level AWD luxury car? Here's an older article from R&T, but they have most of the cars you mentioned. The G35x is 1st gen, but I don't think the AWD system has changed much for the 07's. For those of you who don't want to bother to read, they rated the Audi 1st.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....&page_number=1

As an RL and an Audi A4 owner, I would recommend either car. Since your looking for entry level, definitely the A4.

Looks better in person huh? Well, I better take a look again then possibly at the auto show.
