G35 is a TANK!!

Well, the plow guys never came yesterday and there is at least a foot of snow in my driveway. I shoveled out a little path this morning to get my car out. I swear, NO WHEELSPIN...the Blizzaks grabbed and I trucked right out of the lot. I have to say, I was relieved that the car is so good as I've had nothing but FWD cars for a L O N G time and was pleasantly surprised with how good this car is in the snow.

Oh, I agree about the tires, guys, but I was more concerned with crazy wheelspin/spinouts. I think the car's near 50/50 weight distribution helps quite a bit too. Blizzaks own me!!!

I agree….
Honestly I’ve never used the “Artic Alpin’s” or any other winter tires, but the BLIZZAK’s run so good in the snow I have no reason to look elsewhere.
I’ve been using them for winter driving since the early 90’s on several different cars.

How do they wear, Shawn? Pretty good? I'm curious how long these babies will last.

I wonder how the new G35X is in the snow? also I wonder if they'll make a G35CX?

dude, just checked out your album, and thats a NICE looking car! never thought I'd like a wing on a G, but with DG, it looks tight. how do you like the stillen intake? any gains from the butt dyno?

Are you sure it was mine you're looking at? Mine is Brilliant Silver with no mods (no intakes or anything on this one)...other than the snow tires.

It depends most on how you drive.
Me, I drive like a PUSSY when they are on the car.
No quick starts that produce wheel spin or hard stops.
I don’t think I need to tell you to go easy on the corners. You’ll find out why the first time you try.

I’m on my fourth season with my current set.
They ran two winters on the 2001 and last year on the 6-Speed.
My service notes with the mileage are at home, but I think I’m around 10,000 miles.
I still have about 60-70 percent tread left.
I wait until the last possible day to put them on and take them off right away come spring time when I’m pretty sure the snow is done.

Treat them right and you should get several years.

If you don't drive crazy and keep your speed down. I usually stay below 65mph, no hard braking, no hard acceleration, no hard turning. They should last you at least 4-5 winters maybe more. Also you fear on wheelspin was cured by the tires, wheelspin is simply a loss of grip which the blizzaks have a ton of

EDIT : Shawn beat me too it, oh well it was directed to him anyway:P

Cool...thanks for the wear reports. Mine are staggered, so no rotation for me.

Yes, and they will call it a "Skyline GTR" - It will suck in the snow.

Actually, you'd have to throw in a twin turbo setup and then it'll be a GTR.

Does the rubber on the Blizzaks have a "shelf-life"?

Cripes, Todd never leaves his town, anyway. Todd, when was the last time you were on the highway? :jealous:

Well, it's been 3 weeks since I put the snows on and I haven't been on the highway yet. Working 7 minutes from home rocks!!!

Has your car ever reached proper operating temperature?

I don’t think so, but just be aware that the “super sticky” aspect of the BLIZZAK goes away after a bit of use.

From Tire Rack:
The Blizzak WS-50 also features Bridgestone's Tube Multicell Compound, which helps disperse water to reduce the risk of slipping on the thin surface film of water that makes ice so dangerous.

NOTE: The first 55% of the Blizzak WS-50 tread depth features the Tube Multicell Compound while the remaining 45% features a standard winter tire compound.

Yep, I warm it up every morning. It goes on the highway a lot in the nice weather, but I'd rather avoid it with the snow tires on.

That wasn't the question. The question was whether they would ever make a G35C AWD.

Nice. Thanks...I would assume the LM-22's are similar? I know I can expect about 30k out of them, if treated right, or more, but what I meant by 'shelf life' was the rubber drying out, if I get the set to last, say 5 years or what have you.
