FORD Windstar Van

Anyone here own one?

I got a new loser cruiser the other day... 2000 beige Ford Windstar Van.... I dropped the tranny in the 94 Chrysler Town & Country AWD...

Need to know how to program the key FOB without going threw the dealers

any help would be appreciated.

like Greenie said..

the days of using Hease's to pick up the deceased are well over... it freaks too many people out and they start asking alot of questions... I like staying as low key as possible when removing a deceased individual.

Anyways... I ordered the OEM key FOB off a website for 30 shipped.. (4 button) LOCK/UNLOCK/3rd DOOR/PANIC.

Problem now is, I ONLY have 1 PAT key... I just bid on e-bay for 2 keys... and I called the dealership..

they quoted me $24.00 per key, 35.00 to program the keys and 56.00 for the OEM FOB.
I told them once I have the owners card I will be out for them to do the programming ONLY...

If I had 2 PAT keys I could do all the programming myself.. but I do not..

Oddly enough...

Smitty knows my story. For you others, no need to elaborate.

I recently found it prudent to write my Last Will and Testament, due to threatening medical reasons. I am only trying to keep things nice and tidy for the survivors should something happen to me. Mt 2003 CLS6/navi is in the will to my favorite nephew.

After I got the Will home, I gathered it with my condominium papers (my niece gets the condo, and shares the proceeds with Jeff who gets the car, minus the value of the car, and the CLS title and owners manual. I intended to include my second set of keys in there just to be nice. I know I got them when I picked up the damn car.

I have turned the house totally inside out, and I will be damned if I can find my second set of car keys and the key fob.

I've got mine in the leather binder that the owners manual comes in, you probably already check in there, but I'd figured I'd mention it.

So, Smitler

If you don't use hearse anymore do you retrofit the monivan to have rollers in the wheel to slide the caskets in and out of?

Or are hearse still used for the funerals and stuff to keep it formal, and the minivans are more day to day transpo?

Hahahaha...Honda Odysseys have VTEC engines. Our '05 has i-VTEC with VCM. That van is insanely fast and smooth!! I'm 22 and not really ashamed driving that around town. Heh...it even handles better than my TL. That's just sad.

No need to ask the dealer to program the remote. Here's what you do to program:

-Shut all the doors and have both the remotes with you

-Put the key in the ignition and turn it on then off for 8 times

-If you do this correctly, the doors will lock then unlock. This means that the computer is in programming mode.

-Within 5 seconds of the door lock confirmation, press a button on the remote. If the receiver acknowledge the signal, the doors will lock then unlock. Repeat with your other remotes.

-When you're done, turn the ignition key to the off position. Remove the key and test out your remotes. If either one still doesn't work, repeat the procedures again.

About the PATS keys, you're right. If you don't have 2 keys, the dealer will be the only place to get the chips programmed.

got both PAT keys today.

13.99 off ebay...

time to head to the dealer, get them cut and programmed.

Yeah Bill, I figured I could do the remote on my own, but since I am paying them 35 to program the keys, might as well let them do it all..

Sar, the Van is used for removal purposes....
We have a Livery service that provides our coaches... yes the rear seats are removed and a tray is put in so the cot can slide in out of the van with ease.

Not every FH has its own Livery.... you have to do over 250+ calls a year for it to be feasible to own the equipment.
