I just delivered another '11 Acura MDX Base and took back their '08 MDX Base lease return (Black/Taupe). 31k miles....It's in decent shape but needs a little bit of conditioning. No accidents or paint work, but has a few dings and scatches that I have to clean up. Before I return it to the bank, anyone have any interest in it? Once cleaned up it'll be a $28k approximate price if I were to buy and re-sell it.

Let me know!

Hey Shoof,

What are 07-08 Acura TL going for? I'm looking for an off lease 20-26k with Navi. White, dark gray or blue. Do you ever make it down to Mannheim in PA?

Thanks,
Tony

Hey, didn't notice this post. I don't usually go down to the PA auction in the winter because it's too far from me (3-4 hours away) and with the sabbath starting early makes it impossible. I stick to the auctions on the other days that are more local to me. Aside from that, I can do a lot on the web w/o actually being there too. On a side note, AHFC pulled out of Manheim a bit and went to a different auction company, so my odds of finding what you want are greater at the other auction (which I have access to as well).

Anywho pricing is psobably somewhere in the low to mid $20k range depending on what I find. PM me if interested in more info.

Taking this trade in:

2002 911 Carrera Cabriolet Tiptronic - 13k miles

Parked behind me was the replacement, an F430 Spyder

Couldn't snap any pics of the 'rari, but you might be able to see it in the reflection of the 911

The wife was looking at the gx at some point. Those are nice vehicles but the suspension was pretty pricey to fix if it needed something compared to a seqiuoa strut suspension.

Eddie, keep your eye out for any C6 verts. Spring is coming and Daddy needs a toy.
Gotta wait for EOY earnings but things look good.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but this thread is 13 pages long.

How do you determine the price of used vehicles? Do you start with something like KBB and take into account things on that particular car (repairs, condition, options, etc), or is there some specific criteria you go through with each car?

I don't use KBB. I use Galves and go to the dealer auction sites to get market value pricing. It's not so easy to buy a used car, I do my best to look for everything, but it's impossible to pick up every flaw (mechanically) when buying a used car, especially when it's from an auction.

I know this is a bit late, but regarding the first post on this page, about trading in an '08 MDX for an '11... do you get that a lot? People trading in their cars for a newer version of the exact same thing? What's their reasoning behind it?

Sometimes. They don't usually upgrade unless there was some sort of change made to the car that would reason them to do it, or they just want to drive a new car every thress years (then just lease the car I say ). Otherwise, not really.

Back alive again - well sorta...

Some better pics of the Porsche - I had it sold but last minute the guy lowballed me and flaked out. I have it tentatively sold to someone else already, i'll know probably later today:

2005 Odyssey EXL RES - 45k miles

It's mechanically in great shape, the interior is pretty clean aside form the bleach stain in the cargo area. The body of the car is decent, but there are painted panels, and whoever painted it should have their fingers cut off so they can't squeeze another paint gun to a panel, the quality is so bad. Then again i'm overly picky with everything, but bad paintwork makes me nuts..

Just curious - how much did that GX go for?

I think a GX will be our next vehicle.

I'm not 100% sure yet. The exterior condition is definitely great, but it needs a bit of mechanical work. Brakes/rotors in front, rear rotors, rear shocks and mounts, there's a transmission oil leak where the driveshaft meets the transmission, hopefully only a gasket, and a few other small problems. They are relatively easy fixes, but I might end up wholesaling it if I don't buy it cheap enough to factor in the cost to make it mechanically 100%.

Autocheck says it was in an accident "with an animal", i'm guessing a deer. The hood and the upper fenders were painted "OK". I noticed on the engine someone marked some numbers on the exhaust manifold and the words "GOOD" are on the engine cover. Me thinks this is a replaced engine but I didn't ask. Other than the knocking sound from the rear suspension mounts needing to be replaced it drives pretty darn good. I haven't paid for the car yet, they are waiting for their new car to come in and i'll be using the money towards the new car, so I still have the option to back out if I don't get the price I want to pay.

That's not a bad price for 50K miles.

I keep checking Manheim and those damn things just keep their prices!

If I had to drive this car every day I wouldn't know how to drive slow. It's almost impossible to drive this thing without giving it a liiiiiitle more gas just to hear the bark of the exhaust. I'd rather drive my Lotus, it's safer

Oh, and $130,000 takes it. Sticker when new was almost $150k. Has every option except for Distronic.

I always checked in here and they were definitely interesting reads to hear about the different deals you were working on for people. However, I will also understand if you just don't have time to be able to keep up with it cause I know life can be really busy for sure.

I have a 2006 ML350 that I just took in on trade, has a little over 70k miles on it, has an MB branded extended warrantee on it that's good for another year or 100k total miles.

I also have a 2009 Civic LX-S with about 20k miles, silver/black, and a 2009 Accord EX-L w/ Nav in Polished Metal, about 25k miles. Also have a 2008 Honda Pilot VP in Dark Cherry, about 41k miles. Have a few older cars, a 2003 Camry LE that I had to replace the engine because of poor maintenance on the part of the previous owner, a decent 2002 Sienna Symphony Edition, and that's all I can think of off the top of my head (I'm not at work yet, still home).

I'm taking in a 2010 (I think) Audi A5 Cab, Prestige, loaded, very low miles. I'll have it this week I think.

Rest of my cars are at the dealer auctions:
2010 Acura TL Base - Black/Black, forgot the miles, but under 10k
2008 Range Rover Sport Lux with factory Rear Entertainment in Grey, miles in the 30's
2011 BMW 750LXI - 14500 miles, Black Sapphire/Beige
2004 MDX Touring - white/saddle, miles in the 50's
2004 TL w/ Nav in silver, miles in the 40's

There are others, but I'm not thinking about them this second...

If anyone wants info on any of these mentioned, let me know.

Wow very nice ML350 always liked the exterior styling on those. Curious as to what ever happened with the SL63 AMG above?

The Camry which you are replacing the engine how will you make out in the end with something like that? Still make something on it or barely break even?
