Damn that sucks. How can they refuse to give you a loaner? You still have warranty right? And the car will be at the dealer for more than 12 hours right?
Now the real question is what will morgan do for a ride

Im getting ready to locate my warranty paperwork. Everything got mixed up in the move, so its taking me some time. I didnt want to argue with them right then and there since I didnt have any evidence to back me up.

What a turnoff...so they assume that ALL scion owner's are 19 year old morons and treat them as such?
Fk them...I don't like this one bit, brother. Have them get a tech that knows at LEAST as much as you before making claims like that. You have to assume the customer is legit before you start making accusations.

Sucks to hear, man. Being carless is always a PITA. Most of that stuff sounds like it should be expected from your average dealer, even though it's infuriating. Amazed they didn't give you a loaner, though.
The one time I asked for a loaner, they didn't have any on-site so they just gave me a ride to a nearby car-rental place they had an account with, no questions asked.
When do you expect to hear back from the dealership? Did you set the camera up?
Now what is the CL doing with Paul...

Toyota has the car.
They tried saying my car was "heavily modded".
I explained the three things done, and they said that a lot of the bolts in the engine bay have been removed. Of course they were, I replaced them with better looking hardware
They asked if the car has ever been boosted.
Yea, I decided to rip off my GT35 last night and try my luck at having the dealer fix it

Because 20 seems too mature and 18 seems too young to be driving a brand new car. 19 is just right.
and you can be a little fkn tool, but you're not really a good representation of that demographic.

Yes Austin, you have hints of dooshbaggery...but overall, you're a pretty cool young person. :ross:...whoops
Morgan, your friends await an update. Fk marching for gun rights, I'm marching for fair treatment at the dealer for my buddy Morg-E.

Got a call this morning. They spoke with the engineers and they told them to scope the cylinders and do a compression test. I was under the assumption they were doing that yesterday
They said they will most likely be replacing the head gaskets, and I quote "Toyota wants to go the whole 9 yards and cover everything under warranty" (as they should). The shitty part? Theyll have an answer tomorrow afternoon for me.
I understand the spark plug holes aren't in an ideal location in this car, but it shouldn't take such a long time to diagnose - a full day, tops. I pressed for a loaner car again, and he said that he'll ask Toyota about that once they see that the HG needs to be replaced. Apparently Toyota doesn't give out loaner cars unless your car is in the shop for more then 8hrs. Guess what? We're going on the 11th business hour.
Oh, and before I forget, the car had 24,794 miles on it when I dropped it off. I wonder how much it'll have when I get it back

Also, the warranty booklet says this:
"You may be eligible for transportation assistance if it's necessary that your vehicle be kept overnight for repairs covered under warranty. Please see your authorized Toyota dealership for further details."
The key word there is repairs, they are treating this time as a diagnostic period.

Call corporate, find out who your regional representative is and let them know that you have no transportation and it's over 8 hours. I'm very active on all forums and I'd really hate to have to share my experience at one of your prestiged dealerships.
You'd be shocked, you might even get someone driving to your house to drop off a loaner. No squeak, no oil. Must remind them that they have something to lose.
May the force be with you.

I'd rather a recall than pretending there's no issue or that you caused it yourself like some that I won't mention here. **cough cough dash cough **

I would like to know how things are going too though...sup Morg?

damn that SUCKS !!!
you would expect the dealership to take "special" care of you since you were the first few to "reserve and buy" the car...that is just ridiculous !!!
some dealerships do tend to have a thin line between "diagnose" and "repair" or "fix" but that is messed up....I remember when I had taken my car in for the timing belt change, they said, "well its going to be only 6 hours so we cant give you a loaner"...since my ex had the day off, I didnt care but I saw they charged me 9 hours in the labour and I threw a
I only paid for 6 hours and told them, have corporate contact me if they have a problem and I will take it up with them....never got a call from Acura....
its funny how these dealerships try to keep every penny and dont care about customer service....

Unfortunately, the days of doing the right thing because, well, it's the right thing to do are few and far between. Customer service costs money...and if money coming in has dwindled, the CS budget does too. So they'll take a hit. Only way to get a response is to have them understand that you will not only be unhappy, you will potentially affect future sales and service.
Come to think of it, I wonder if Acura took at look at my post count (I referenced AZ) to make a decision on the dash. 19K posts...holy fk, this guy really WILL go on a tirade! Pay up!
Yum...I'm not sure, maybe start with Austin...see if that helps?

^^^ am not sure they did....if 1 person throws a tantrum they may come up and say "well, too bad"....
the way dealerships try to do a favor for you (I was told this by a service manager at Dave Mungenast Acura in STL)..."if you bring your car in for regular maintenance and have all other major maintenance done at the dealership and then trade the car in and stay with the Dave Mungenast family, ofcourse you will be favored"....
think about it....oil change was like 40 bucks plus tax...synthetic was 60 plus tax....air filter they charge $40 for the filter + labor....if the dealership is making some $$$ off you they are bound to favor you....
people like us who love to do everything at home (I think my car only went in for the 105K mile service and I bought all the parts outside and paid them for labor)...they barely make a dime off us....for them to pay for a major repair (f-ed up transmission) and give you a loaner seems like asking toooo much....
For Morgan, since his car is still under warranty, I dont think the dealership is losing any money off it...I bet it will be "billed" to Toyota....so they should definitely do right by him....giving him a loaner wont run the dealership out of business....

You'd figure the loaner would be covered by Toyota Corporate as well if it's a warranty repair, no?
Anyways... Morgan's car isn't at the dealer. Someone apparently drove it up here.

I had to do a double-take. If it wasn't for the Ontario license plate, I would've been convinced Morgi was somewhere at the show.

Getting a stock motor.
Double post, ya noob.
Austin. Isn't his birthday coming up?

Well, interesting news...
-They scoped the cylinders and saw some buildup in one of them.
-They did a compression test and saw consistent numbers when cold but one of the cylinders was low when hot.
They notified corporate and corporate decided instead of fixing it at this time, theyre going to do a "fluid level analysis".
Basically, they fill it to a certain amount, note it, and if it drops again, I bring it back to them.
Or in other words:
Toyota: "Here Morgan, hopefully it doesn't break down on your way to work."
I swear, if this fucking thing overheats on my way to work, making me miss time, theyre not going to hear the end of it
Bright spot to the week - I got a job.

Aaaaaaaand now I won't be picking up my car tonight because the person driving me took forever to get ready and I would need to make a 30 minute drive in 12 minutes. Fuck.

Oh, for those asking for a video of the car on the dyno, here is a better angle (white smoke from exhaust at 16 seconds):
<iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6RAdhC1yzE4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Im debating if I should still go to NY this week. I don't want anything to happen to the car (honestly, I was hoping Id have a rental to take on those shitty roads
), but I may go up because I need to get some stuff.

Sounds like the way Nissan dealt with the oil consumption on VQ35DE REV UP motors.
Sorry.
Congrats on the job.

I'm serious.

Congrats sir!
