I have no idea how to preface this, so Im just going to come straight out with it. I crashed the car.

It rained tonight and I decided to head out while it was slick and try to work on my drifting skills. I was in a parking lot and just going crazy with it. I spun out a few times but after about 30 minutes of messing around I was finally able to hold a decent drift. It was getting late so I decided to head back to the house. Well, on an on-ramp I thought it would be great to give it my best Ken Gushi impression. Thats when I lost it and slammed the driver side 3/4 panel into the wall. The damage wasn't horrible, but....still. I high-tailed it out of there before a Trooper showed up since they like to give out reckless driving tickets for single car accidents.

I had my camera rolling. You have no idea how badly I wanted to delete the recording, but I figured it would be best to show people what not to do. The sound quality sucks but I'd rather wipe the sound of impact from my memory

Yea, I typically don't like to tempt fate when it comes to stuff like this. But I'm not one to drift, at least not in a completely empty parking lot.

So yea, the latest gift Scion sent is an HPI E10 r/c car with an FR-S body painted to match out car.











I want to get different wheels and get the drift slicks. It'll spin around in the house, but outside it just grips. I've already flipped the chassis to the drift setup.


Update on the exhaust - Cold start up vid:

The exhaust is loud at start up only due to the way the factory has the valve overlap set. Once it warms up its nearly silent at idle. It has a nice tone to it.

The downside, and this is a major downside, is drone. Between 2k and 4k the drone is unbearable. The exhaust gets quieter above 4k rpms oddly enough. Im not the only one to complain about it, and SRT responded in the thread. They are willing to go with a larger resonator, but they need to verify fitment.

Theyre about 2.5hrs north of me so I volunteered my car. They said for some reason their test car didnt have any drone, so I figure it would be a good chance for them to enjoy the boomy, head-feels-like-its-about-to-explode drone in person.

It has been my experience drone always happens right freaking at cruising speeds where I spend most of the time. I finally got a bigger muffler and with the cutout when I want powa I open it making that exhaust note in your vid sound silent.
