I had a 'vert once and got rid of it bc it gets annoying. Besides, a fixed roof car is stiffer and won't flex as much on track days which is one place for sure this car will be used.

Buy it and flip it for a profit when you receive it. Keep your current order in the works.
My SA said the configurator is updating 6/23, and "you'll be configuring another 992 I'm sure Scott. lol." In short that means the 992.2 is coming out.

Bummer to lose your preference
Though, it's a 911, there aren't too many factory colors that would look bad.
I recall working in college, doing neighborhood gate security at a $1M+ lakefront community. Guy had a triple brown (paint, top & interior) 911 Cab (997 IIRC, this would've been around 2008).
Seemed an odd choice for a car in that price bracket, especially with it being 3 shades of brown.
I dropped the overly wordy "911 Carrera S" in favor of just plain 911. The graphite blue really (to me) brought out the blue tones in the Dolomite Silver. I'll have to stop in at the dealer and see how they pair up in their configuration room with my SA.
I’m not sure what this silver is called, but I liked it. This was a friends 992 911 Carrera S, and he paid ~$143K back in 2019…PDK (which I also liked, Altho the ultimate would be 6MT!). Nothing on the rear, he had them debadged. I think it looks great clean….obviously personal opinion.
Configurator games once again-I dig the retro look of this Sport-Tex/cloth centers the only sacrifice is no ventilated seats which is not a big deal at all. I'll go to the dealer and sit in their configuration center again while looking at the exact colors/materials there to determine what I like best.
I've got 'em in my Gran Coupe and they're nice but in Buffalo, they're largely unessential 95% of the time. I've lived in Houston, I know what you're talking about.
i've started to read on Rennlist that things are starting to move along, i'd expect your spot in line to come pretty soon. has there been any updates similar to that from your dealer?
No, and I don't send endless messages to my SA either. I haven't contacted him in 2 months, the last to say here's my changes to my build only to hear the configurator is changing in less than a week so you're getting a different car than you planned (color only). Went from Dolomite Silver to GT silver bc the former was discontinued for 2023.
I have said to many that I'd prefer a base Carrera with a 7MT and now to that end, Porsche has re-introduced the Carrera T which is precisely what that is with the go-fast bits of the S minus nearly 100 hp. I can easily live with a 3200 pound car with a likely understated hp rating of 379. I configured one and sent it to my SA hoping I could get an allocation for one. We shall see but here's the configuration. Comes standard w/ Sport Chronograph, Sport exhaust, PASM, lightweight glass (which I wanted anyways) and some nice bits in the interior. The only choices for audio are base and Burmester so I popped for the latter. Also it comes standard without rear seats which for me is perfect as I will never have anyone back there anyways and it will likely give me more room to pack up for a long weekend away with wifey.
How does the OTD compare between the T & the S?
Personally, I really like the T & it'd be more than plenty car for me. Costs more than my first house, though.
Ditched Burmester and added SportDesign Package instead. Adds quite a bit of presence to the car I think. Also got rid of Lane Change Assist and Exclusive Design tail lights but added Rear Axle Steer.
