Check out what I ran over

I took the Explorer to work today. 31" tires on it.
I park in an underground garage at work. The last few days they had sections blocked off for pressure cleaning. At 2pm I leave to the post office. I'm back at 2:20. I leave work for the day at 4pm. I get in, I back out. I hear this loud clunk with each tire rotation. I stop & get out & see this BIG metal round thing embeded into the tire, & I have a flat. I'm like damn. I get out of the garage I change to the spare. I head to the tire place & they pull out this.......

The entire thing was all the way into the tire. It's 11"s long! It did come from the parking garage cause it's used to hold up pipeing, lines, & such onto the celing.
Thank god for road hazzard on the tires. They patched it & sent me on my way.
It's not even a sharp edge I can't understand how it got there. I only do like 5-10mph in the garage. Had to happen as I pulled in from the post office or else I would have heard the metal clunking on the road. The tire place guys were amazed & wanted to take a pic of it as the biggest thing they ever took out of a tire

I pulled a 12 inch branch out of my fender last night. Im not sure how it got there, why it didnt cause any damage, and why I didnt hear it. The reason I was reaching into the fender was because my fatty friends had bottomed out my car about 10 times

That looks as if its about 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. What monster size patch did they use?

It's about a 1/4 inch thick. If the patch doesn't hold up, I have free tire replacement so I'll get a new tire. It was in the dead center of the tread, & these are BFG offroad tires so they are meatier then most tires.

They wouldn't do it. It's up to the store, not me. If it was in the sidewall I'd get a new tire.

I was coming from Vero beach > Miami on I-95 a few months ago, you know those little bridges that you drive over that have a little upwards slope that you can't see over them, Well I was doing about 80mph and as I was coming to the highest point over the bridge what did I see infront of me 20ft away, a Ladder right in my lane....

I pulled a bird out of my bumper about a year ago. I remember almost nailing a bird standing in the road a year before that, I just saw this cloud of feathers in my mirror as I drove by, but couldn't find him in the engine bay, so I figured I knocked him to the side of something.

Then Dad is out washing the cars and says he pulled the thing out from behind where the foglight should be. Sucker was mummified from being in there so long.

On FL46 (East-central Florida), I snagged a bat (the mammal NOT the baseball equipment) on the wiper arm of my minivan. In total, we have nailed 1 bat, 1 cat, about 2 birds and an indeterminable number of rodents with our minivan. (Our current cat would be included in that statistic, if it were not for the fact that I recognized its kitten figure in the road just in time.....3 years later, it is the best cat I have ever owned.)
