1979 Ferrari 312 T4

Offered from The Jody Scheckter Collection

https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/m...312-t4/1450229

Ferrari's successful WDC/WCC 312T4, normally has skirts but it's rare to see the ground effects of the late 70's and early 80's with skirts.

Photo's https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/m...1450229/photos

€5,250,000 - €6,500,000 EUR

I like how the drivers legs and body are the crush structure for the car. I like the attempt at safety with the roll hoop.

I've been watching old F1 races with F1TV.
Forget which race it was, but early-mid 80s. Ligier I think got into the wall & ripped the nose off the car. Driver just stood up & walked out of the car

, that era was incredibly dangerous with alot of speed, downforce and very little if any crash protection. Jody in the 312T4 which was incredibly exposed for even that era.

The Brabham BT49 and Williams FW07 and other cars from that same year had at least better strutural support with a complete monoque box front structure which have 3 bulkheads vs. the single front Ferrari bulkhead

I've never seen a fuel injected C2 before, IIRC they're pretty rare.

1979 PORSCHE 935 RACECAR TRIBUTE "APPLE LIVERY"Final bid: $75,000 Ended

Hard to believe this replica-935 (Apple - LeMans tribute) only sold for $75k
Figure all the parts put on this former 912 would been worth far more than that, but replica racers don't bring alot of cash since there's no real heritage.
Very impressive none the less, especially the

There was a 991.1 gt3 with the apple livery on it for sale at the dealer near me. I thought it looked sweet, many didn’t agree, it sat a while, they eventually pulled the livery wrap off, then it finally sold but didn’t do too well. I think last advertised price was in the 120k range.

I did spot s 997 GT2 in those pics above and a 918… nice!
