I dont think the video is portraying the wheels being made from scrap metal, but rather AC Schnitzer's disgust with replica's and their decision to destroy them....

Video piracy has brought down the ridiculous costs of DVD/Blu Ray somewhat.
Fake wheels will bring down the costs of legit wheels.

The rise in the Piracy/bootleg only means the market cannot afford the current prices of legit items.
These Germans cannot compete against these other companies so they use tactics like this. It will fail in the long run.
