2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee...thoughts?
Not looking to buy, although if i was in the market, i would snatch one in a heartbeat.
Just curious to see others opinions.
Ive been a huge fan since the 96 JGC, but the new one is truly pushing the bar in quality and design.
electronic ride height adjustment FTW

I really like the new GC and the ad campaign is pretty good, too. In case you haven't seen it:

I've driven one. I loved it. Very nice in and out.
If I could swing it I'd buy one for the wife.

Saw one at the dealership and even in base Laredo trim, its designed extremely nice inside and out. Its been added to my short list of possible new car purchases... and amazingly 80% of those on the list are American with no Honda products...

I really like it. I was a HUGE fan of the original one (Especially the post MMC ones), and not so much the others. This new one, however, is SICK! It would seriously be on my list were I looking for an SUV and had a 45k budget. The base engine is acceptable, if nothing else, but I don't care cause mine would have a Hemi in it.

The leather in the picture of the interior looks awesome. I'm a huge fan of that color.
The JGC is one of the last remaining SUVs that is really meant for off-roading. But if you rarely or never do that, isn't your money best spent elsewhere on a CUV?

That was uncalled for...
Here comes a question from somebody with zero Mopar knowledge: Does anybody have an idea of how durable the 5.7's are? How about the drive line?
My dad is in the market for an SUV, and he really likes this one, on paper at least. We haven't driven it, but plan to next week once the 5.7 rolls into the dealerships.

The new pentastar v6 (which these feature) are supposed to be really good, too. Light years better than the current POS V6 they use.

I love the new JC. the silhouette is the perfect look for an SUV.

Yup. They depreciate quite a bit. Still, there is the gas mileage thing (I think the SRT8 gets like 8 mpg). BUT I have to say the Cherokee is like a 3 Series Bimmer. It gets better every time.

The 5.7's are solid. They have been using them for a long time now. And have and will have lots of aftermarket support. Even for the Jeeps.

It actually looks pretty nice, but I've only seen the commercials, not one in person yet. Even the interior looks much improved from previous generations. Just seems really expensive, though.
