-2 camber and regular tire wear

Can someone tell me if rear tires with a -2 camber will need a camber kit? say if we have everything else in check, like the toe? On an Infin...I mean, Acura TL.

-2 is starting to get to the point where it will cause wear. If you rotate the tires often iw will significantly reduce the wear. (given the front end alignment is to spec)

2degrees camber is the recommended optimal driving/turning/track. Anything larger, it is doomed for immense wear.

my rear camber is -2.1 I believe, and I am not seeing any weird thread wear. I think you should be good. Anything beyond that and you will start noticing uneven thread wear.

Recommended by what/who/m? The spec for rear camber is -0.5 to -1.5 degrees. My rear camber is and always has been right at the limit (-1.5), but I need an alignment about every year to keep the toe in limits and avoid tire feathering.

OP, are you slammed at all?

You might be OK at -2, hard to know for sure. Is everything else in spec?

I'd keep an eye on the inside tire edge tread and rotate regularly

Yup, I'm at -1.8 and I'm getting some accelerated inside tread wear. I'm seriously looking at installing an adjustable end link camber kit.

Marcus (Heeltoe) wrote an good article about camber kits and wear. I could be wrong but IIRC, he pretty much said that camber won't really cause the wear. It's the toe that will cause the wear.

I have experienced both types of wear. When I had my 03 TL-s, my rear camber was off but my toe was in spec. It ate up the inside of the tires gradually.

Recently, I experienced tire wear related to toe on my FX. The toe will cause the entire tire to wear really really fast.

toe adjustment is a lot more crucial in terms of tire wear ... just perform regular rotations and you should be fine!! (I have -1.5 fronts, -2 rear at the moment)

-2.5 Front, -4.6 Rear right now. I flip my tires every 5000 Mi, so I don't really have a problem. You'd be fine at -2 camber as long as your toe is in check.

I still go to get my alignment checked 2X a year regardless..... toe goes out of spec over time. This is when having lifetime alignment is great. If you have a Discount Tires or a Firestone nearby, take advantage of it to the fullest... but treat them well! I have a pretty good relationship with the workers at Discount Tire near my place.

-3 all around, just flipped my tires at 30000kms(18000 miles) or so cuz i noticed some more wear on the inside, but nothing too crazy... and those tires were already used before at factory camber for probably a long time
and with mine only the very corner (outer half inch or so) of the tire was wearing out a little faster than the rest

Actually I bring them coffee/frapachinos sometimes. The manager's real cool and he brought his 69 Vette to show to me.

I run staggered too.

Flip the tires..... that's what I do... Just tell them to flip the rears... it's just unmounting and remounting.

Take off the left tire and put it on the right wheel; take the right tire and put it on the left wheel.

Just got the adjustable camber kit for the rear of my 04 Honda Accord lowered on the HFP suspension kit. I was experiencing severe tire wear on the inside rear tires.

Is it easy to install the camber kit? I just have to take out the old bar and install the new ones right?
