Extreme 4x4 (on Spike TV) had an epidsode on the XJ yesterday... It should be on today too...

They are doing a http://www.jeepspeed.com/ buildup... Pretty interesting class since it's geared towards low budget racing...

Jeep prices really seem to vary based on location too. A rubi up in the NE might go for 5k more than one in the south

deke, those were some cool vids man. You and your bro both had some nice rigs. BTW, were either one of you locked up in the front or rear? It didn't look like you were but it was hard to tell.

Here's some new pics I took earlier for me to whore... I wanted to play with some night shots.

I wish I could have bought this thing before summer was over, now I won't get many chances to get this thing out on the trails till jackass Winter leaves town...

Anybody know how to make animated gif's?

Any of you jeep guys know of any good sites that have custom stereo installs in wranglers? I'm looking to do some sort of box that uses the well behind the front seats and level with the tub. I don't run a back seat, but I don't want a traditional box and I want to keep the rear floor clear if I need to put the seat in. I'd love some ideas. I'm thinking about 2 8" subs.

If I were you, I would search www.jeepforum.com for some pics. Thats where I got the idea to do a quater panel box or a spare wheel enclosure in the future. Good luck.

It's on the top of the page however... The search may be down for non-paying members. I'm a paying member.

EDIT: I figure, with as much as I plan to do to the Xj, I might as well pay the $25 to be a member and reap the benefits. I NEED that search function.

The rear "soundbar" is stock. It's in my headliner. I have Infinity's back there to match the front doors.

My Jeep... See the rear of the headliner? Those pics you posted just show it w/o the speaker grills on. Thats dangerous in my opinion.

Dude, thats sick. The only thing that it needs is recovery mods and maybe an ARB front bumper. It looks like it's got a 4.5" lift on 32's. Me likey.

Well, I was working on the quater panel sub install last night and this morning. What a waste of time and effort. I'm glad I didn't cut the interior panel before I did a test run, that would have sucked. I think I got most of it sealed up pretty well between the expanding foam and rubber weather stripping but geez... When I tried playing something with a lot of bass, the whole freakin' Jeep rattled, even the tailgate. If I were to make this work, I would have to Dynamat to whole Jeep and thats just not gonna happen. Oh well, back to the drawing board... I think the next trial will be using the spare wheel as the enclosure. I really want to get this box off the floor so I have more room for gear.

Here's some pics of what I had done. Sorry, no pics of the test fit as I forgot.

MDF plate I made sealed with expanding foam

Rubber weather stripping all around "enclosure"

With the plate installed. I also went all around the inside edge of the panel with the expanding foam as well as stuff the inside with fiber fill.

Screw it...

Those solo's are brutal man.....I never even have my amp turned up and mine kills everything in the car. Sounds like crap anyway, I rem when I had my Jeep i had an older L7 and it sounded soooooo much better. tighter, punchier, louder, cleaner....better.

I love that speaker. If you didn't know any better, you'd think there was a 12 back there. I think my gain is turned all the way down too, haha. It does sound a ton better in here than it did in the CL. You could barely tell it was even hooked up in that car. It's like night and day.
