$5 is top dollar?
I just ordered these brackets...
which fit any of the 6" convex mirrors from Autozone or the square CJ mirrors.

but I just got here.
Well, thanks to o2cls, I was able to find an HID kit here: http://www.brightheadlights-hid.com/...aled-beams.htm
Doing the lift has just taken a back seat for awhile so I can do the HID's.
Those are pretty nice brackets, Beet.
Ok, now I'm leaving damnit!

'08 MX5 GT 6spd.
This is EXACTLY what im going for.....Ive thought it over and I would like to get (after the jeep)
1) Kevins BB 2.5"
2) Some nice 31's (Stock wheels) Nice and hard sidewalls but realitively quiet on the road.
3) K&N FIPK + 40' Series muffler (Flowmaster)+Jet Chip. Might be able to swing 30hp out of these.
4) And some Kevin's rock rails.
I might be able to swing some good HP numbers with that setup as well as get near 20mpg. I dont plan on doing any serious off-roading, just some longer road trips to Colorado (1-2 times a year).
.....dammit, I'm already planning mods for a car I dont yet have.

few pics from a trip yesterday... only really got pics when we stopped so no good action shots or anything, but some cool scenery
Our group was 4 jeeps, then met up with a buggy, a scout, and a very built TJ along the way.

I don't know anything about Jeeps but I have a question.
I understand the windshield folds down on top of the hood, but on all of the Wranglers I see, the roll cage connects with it at two points. How does one disconnect those bars? Is it possible to take the entire cage out?

Does anyone know why the windsheilds fold down?
The design dates back to war time. The jeep patrols would fold the windshild down so the glare from the windsheild would not give away there location to the enemy

Interesting spdy, good factoid
Those bars are screwed into the windshield. Three torx screws I believe, and then a bolt or two connects the other end of that bar to the rest of the cage.
Not sure if the rest of the cage can come out...a lot of guys get custom cages but I think they build off the existing tubes.

the cage is 100% removeable in everything pre 07. its a 6 point cage. 2 points on the windshield. 2 on the main hoop behind the front seats. and then 2 on the rear wheel wells. All of the bolts are the viscious torx head bolts.

the stock factory headlight harness will only give around 10.5-11 volts to the headlights. One of the shady tree shop mods is to wire up some relays and give it a full 12-14volts. That in combination should help a good deal with the headlights.
After driving the TL at night I can tell you with certainty you'll never get that kinda output outta the jeeps.

Thats why I got those kc lamps, stock headlights are pretty weak. Doesn't matter in the city, but off road they wouldn't cut it at night.

I actually just learned this a few days ago. I'm gonna upgrade the h/l wiring harness and do the HID's as well. I just came across a website that sells sealed beam kits at a pretty good price. I think I'll give them a call to gather more information first though. I want to make sure it's a true plug and play system.
For offroading, I'm gonna do a walmart light bar I think and turn my front crossbar into the light rack. Either that, or I'm gonna add a full roof rack and attach the o/r lights to that. Damn... I'm feeling extremely lazy lately...
