Thank you!! Took a few tries to get one in focus.
Yeah, me too... but that was the point. It also looks way better in person.
I was going to wrap the car to make it stand out, but whatever color I wanted would have been associated with another car that's already "Insta-famous", so I decide to make the wheels stand out. It's paid off so far as it's helped me get sponsored and featured under several vendor tents at shows and my IG profile has nearly doubled since I got the car and really started marketing it (it's still small, but at least it's trending upwards)... so mission accomplished I guess

This has been my daily driver this year.
Luckily prices have been cheap enough that I can sit up front.
And no this is not my picture. Just a random A320 cabin photo off the interweb.

Got this a few months ago. 2010 Outback, 3.6R premium, 140K on the odo... price was $8500 plus 700 in state fees for a grand total of $9200. Around here they go for about 10.5K

For my performance cars I'll likely only be German. I just love them all . Down the road will likely be an R8 or AMG GT.
But, for now I need to slim the collection a bit. Have bigger things cooking so I'm selling this and the Mustang Cobra. Time to reduce the collection from 7 to 5.

Used, they're hovering around the 55k-65k mark in SoCal .. I've seen 3-4 of them and they definitely have road presence.

Back in the day when I could not afford one, the in-line 6 in the BMW was a treat in the E36 328is that I wanted. I had to settle for the 318is (mid 90s).

Apparently Toyota had neither the resources nor the appetite to develop a new engine/chassis on their own, but still wanted/needed to spice up their line-up. Hence, cost-sharing ... a la the Toyabaru (GT86/BRZ).

Now if you could just do that to the Corolla and stick that GT2 RS motor in it. LOL

Just wondering why they went with a BMW engine when the last Supra (the one with the basket handle on the back) supposedly had a bulletproof engine that could be highly modified without issues.

Collaborations are nothing new in the auto industry... so Toyota isn't breaking new ground or anything... but the internet likes to troll them

Reminds me of a station I saw recently.
Sign had the expected price for 87.
2nd price listed (0.10 higher) for E-15
3rd price for E-85.
First time I've seen E-15 listed as an option.

Correct. It has the B58 motor... which I love b/c it's highly tunable
As nanxun said, it was a collaboration with BMW. Way cheaper to collaborate with another company than it is to develop your own. It is a bit odd they didn't go with a Lexus motor... but they wanted a Turbo... so they looked outside Toyota and worked with BMW to develop the B58 for the Supra.

Regarding the Zupra, lots of enthusiasts are mad about the whole ordeal regarding BMW's involvement. While I am not bothered by it, I completely understand.
Biggest gaffe was not having a manual transmission at all. My thinking is that if Toyota solely developed it, they would have taken the liberty to offer it IMO. The Corolla is surprisingly (to me) available with a manual transmission.

They definitely oversaw development... part of the reason why the B58 in the Supra has it's own designation. You can argue semantics all day as to what qualifies as a collaboration, but this was not done all alone by BMW. If you think Toyota just let BMW develop this by themselves with no input... you're cuckoo.

All i know is from the infotainment system to the windshield to the interior to the key fobs are all BMW. Yes even the windows are BMW.
I mean Idrive and B58 are the best in business, i know since i have been using them for many years. But there is really no collaboration. Most like a putting a different face on the Z4 and call it a Supra to me.

Many companies use AMG's engines but at least they put some effort into it to make it their own... With Supra, Toyota didn't even try....
The relationship between Supra and the Z4 is like Eclipse/Eagle Talon... and i am sure Eagle had a lot of "input" with that "collaboration"....

I personally have no issue with Supra using B58 or even iDrive. But Toyota should have put some of their own flavors to it. Instead of just copy and paste.

Drive the Z4 and then drive the Supra. They may share a similar structure and powertrain, but they are two vastly different cars.

What? The engine, while built by BMW, was tuned by Toyota specifically for the Supra. Same with the transmission and the chassis. The interiors are completely different. I don't think there's any sheet metal shared between the two either.

Either way, I really don't give a crap. I love the car and in the end, I have both European AND Japanese tuners making aftermarket parts/accessories for it. Huge win/win IMO...
