As far as the ride/handling goes... it can also be considered tech but IIRC the CTS-V has the MR dampers - the fluid inside each shock contains very small magnetic particles, that when subjected to differing levels of electrical current can alter the damping rates. I've never read that it affects both compression and rebound but I'm almost certain that it does. There are also sensors that monitor road conditions many, many times each second and compensate for them almost instantaneously. The result is a great ride coupled with great handling. It's awesome if you ask me, its the same or similar shock setup as in the R8, ZR1, and 599

^ Actually, I think it's the exact same shocks. I've only heard good things about them.
Congrats

Heh, you guys are funny. ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I just got it tinted and a clear bra. Still a few bubbles in the clear bra but every day they are better and should be gone. I'll take some pics after they are gone.
I LOVE this car....but I hate waiting for the breakin period to finish (1500 miles). I'm at 780ish right now.

I can't believe I missed this whole thread
. The OP did confer with me before he got his V and I think he made a good choice. I only wish Acura made a similar car. ![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Hopefully you'll get a response from him, but I will say that I've had my V just short of two years and I'm not sorry I did it. Gas mileage is
really bad but I don't care. It now has 21.5k miles on it and no rattles. It is still as fun to drive as when I accidentally got it to 105 mph on the Ohio Turnpike on the return from my purchase.
If you are looking for the best bang for the buck in high-speed luxury transportation, you cannot miss a CTS-V.

Hey! It's back!
I've now owned it a touch over 6 months or so and at about 6000 miles.
It is an absolutely amazing machine.....and I love the fact that it is a total sleeper. It's funny but those who know cars definitely give it a 2nd look.
It handles great and the power is so much fun. It can be a comfortable city-driving car, a tight-handling country road car, and a rip-your-face-off track car. There aren't too many other vehicles that can meet all of these....plus it easily fits the car seat in the back and can hold some luggage in the trunk.
It definitely isn't gas friendly, however. I'm lucky to get 18mpg combined and if I stomp it...low single digits.
Neuronbob -- you were one of the ones after reading your thread that convinced me to test drive one....I appreciate it, man.
I still haven't let my wife drive it, though.

It's funny that you mention that....there have been more than a few times the speed has crept way up and you just don't notice it....the ride remains quiet, smooth, and comfortable.

If you guys don't mind a filthy car, I'll take some shots tomorrow -- we're getting over a bad (for the south) snow/ice storm and the car is filthy....and it is way too cold to wash.

My family lives in Atlanta. I've heard they've had a crazy week with the weather. I lived there for 15 years and no abnormal weather to speak of. I leave and they get a freaking blizzard (at least for that area).

For $70k? Toss up between E92 M3 and CTS-V coupe. The Caddy wins the "feel good" points for buying American, and you get a bonus 150 or so horsepower. It would come down to extended drives in both to see which one felt right.
