Grrrrrrrrr....
I worked last night so I'm asleep when the car dealer calls at 10:30.
They had to do a locate to get the car I wanted (Raven Black/Recaro/loaded) and I was fully expecting them to be calling let me know I could come pick up.
Apparently, the other car dealer sold the car out from under them last night.
They didn't call this AM to let my car dealer know -- and their driver/truck had left at 0300 AM to get it and be back in time today.
I had already put a significant amount of money down.....
Now the awesome financing deals in June are over. ($2k back + 0% financing)....and I don't have a car.
New July deal: $3k back OR 0% financing (otherwise 2.9%).
They are working with GM and working to find another Black sedan....apparently, they are almost all gone.
Cliff's:: Got screwed by another dealer. No car. Deal not as good.
They do say that there is a white one closeish by that has everything I want but I'm not sure about white...
Help?

I'm furious because I put the money down on a specific VIN and along with that the financing/etc.
I don't see how the other dealer could legally sell it right from under me when I had already signed for it!

I drive a Subata.

just get the white one with more incentive or wait for the right one

Weird, typically you can lock the rate in when they ran your credit for the car. Hm maybe thats just for BMW?
Also if you had gotten the car today then wouldnt you still get the July rates...?
*edit*Oops, i read you had already done the paperwork for the car.
Yea fishy indeed.

Dealer A had its pants pulled down and got rodgered by Dealer B.
Nothing fishy ... Dealer B probably got MSRP for the car and so they said "F U" to Dealer A.

The big issue I have is that I have everything towards that specific VIN.
I'm also likely to lose several thousand in savings as I was able to greatly benefit from the $2k back to the dealer and the 0% - the 0% interest was several thousand in savings right there and also meant I could take my sweet time paying it off.
My dealer (Dealer A) also said they have opened a case with GM customer care....and I called and there is no record/case opened according to what they could see.
I just spent 30 minutes on the phone in a futile conversation...basically no help.

So, after multiple phone calls:
1. Apparently, there are very very few CTS-Vs left in the Southeast -- even fewer with Recaros, etc.
2. GM will not honor the previously signed financing deal/incentives even though it was signed and dated in June.
3. The new incentives are terrible and I would lose $1000s even if a V could be found.
4. GM has no customer service skills.
So, it looks like my CTS-V is gone. Today was supposed to be a fun day.
Oh, well.

How's the GM dealership experience usually? I'm just curious as I've never visited any of its dealers.
I've been to Ford dealership once when my best friend was shopping for the Mustang GT back in 2006, and all the salesmen were just like this . They were probably wondering wtf are those asians doing in Ford dealership??

First, let me say i'm sorry that GM screwed you over on the CTS-V deal, second, you now get to look at CPO CLS63s! I'll shut up about them now...

I think I'm missing something ...
You can still get 0% financing but not the additional $2k now, right?
So the most you're out is $2k on a car that costs like $65k?
It sucks you missed the deal but it's not the end of the world is it?
It's like 3% of the MSRP.

Do a wider search for the V. There has to be a dealer somewhere within 500 miles that would love to sell you a car. Sorry for your troubles.

M3. Maybe throw in a Euro delivery while you're at it.

The extenuating circumstances are what make this a particularly sour experience. The representatives of GM (the dealers) f'ed over the customer by pulling the rug out from under him, AFTER he had a signed deal. ....LAME.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be pissed. I'm just saying if he loves the CTS-V don't let 3% of what he's paying come between what him and what he really wants.

In the overall scheme of things, $3,000 isn't that much money on a car with an MSRP of $70k; it is, however, the principle of the matter. They may be able to find a car but it is further than 500 miles away and they won't go any further than that.
You would think that GM would be bending over backwards to make this sale; they instead basically say screw you with the way I have been treated. Customer Service was no help and it was obvious that they could not wait to get me off of the phone as quickly as possible.
Dealer A was apologetic, of course, but could do nothing else.
$500 over invoice for an M3 is pretty decent as BMW doesn't have a holdback. Coupled with decent financing...not a bad deal.

Sorry to hear but that dealer B had the car and it's their call. A friend in Austin bought a G8 GXP a few months ago and he decided to deal directly with the Pontiac dealer in El Paso that had the configuration he wanted (color/options) instead of going through a local dealer since he was afraid if he dealt locally the same situation could have happened to him. He did have to fly SouthWest to El Paso and drive it back but got a better deal than dealing locally in Austin.
THAT is just bad business.

Looks like I may be getting a 2011 CTS-V for an amazing price.
GM opened an investigation into this series of events as I filed a customer complaint and escalated it up pretty far to the people that can actually do something.
I would just have to wait a few weeks or so....if I want to stick with GM/Cadillac.
I just played around with a colleague's iDrive on his 2011 5 series....definitely not intuitive by any means.

I entirely agree it's bad business and bad form, but I'd like to hear dealer B's version of the story. I've heard some tales in the past were the dealer is contacted and a saleman OK's the swap deal before clearing it with the sales manager or owner.
BTW, this happened to me in 92 when I contacted a Honda dealer out of state for a CBR900RR. He agreed to my price ($7400, list $8299), and I was all set to pick it up on a few days later and the dealer called and said they sold it a couple days later even after we agreed on a price. I know it sucks.
