If you live in the land where money is no object, sure....what the hell. But if I compare the M56 to the R-Spec Genesis.

Assuming simlarly optioned
Genesis R-Spec: $47,350
M56: $66,795

Really? With the $20,000 in my pocket and the better factory warranty, I'll be quite content tooling around in my R-Spec.

:shakehead Disagree. IMO the Genesis looks better. Less cluttered yet very upscale.

$47k! Drive it off the lot then its worth 30k.

They did such a good job on the new V6 is makes you double guess yourself on why get the V8. Give the 2012 V6 a whirl before deciding on paying extra for the V8.

Resale value won't be an issue in this case. He's going to drive it for like 20 years.

While I prefer the exterior design of the Genesis over the M, I do prefer the center stack design/materials used over that on the Genesis (which I have never liked; toss in that "meh" steering wheel as well).

But it's not worth a $20k difference.

It'll definitely be interesting to see what the pricing on the Kia K9 will be (about a year away from the Korean launch).

From the spy shots, the K9 looks to have quite the nice interior (definitely better than the Genesis and up front, probably even better than the Equus).

I'm thinking that the K9 will start at a pricepoint a little higher than the R-Spec.

The residuals on the Genesis are par, if not a little better than for the M, so in that respect, also wouldn't be an issue.

While that is true, I dont exactly know the specs of the R-spec or how it drives, but I was kinda comparing the M37 to the 4.6. Yes the 4.6 has gobs of power, but its not gonna drive anything close to the M37. Its regarded as being as good of a drivers car as the last gen 5 series. Which was the benchmark. In your OP you said that fun to drive is a big factor and then later on you said the twisties are that important anymore since your considering a car thats not so good in that area. But you dont even realize you already compromising what you originally wanted. HP means so little when it comes to driving pleasure. My 00'tl drives better than my moms 08' accord and it has a good 50 more horses.

Now for the interior comments, the Genesis looks so plain. Its just too boring, and its aluminum trim looks tacky. Yes the infiniti has it too, but the wood makes it look a lot better than the Genesis.

And dont even get me started with the Genesis steering wheel...

Lol sorry, Im just not a fan of the genesis, but either way you go as long as you pick what you like is what counts. I'm just throwing my opinion out there

My dads 2010 genesis is every bit as fun to drive as my neighbors M37
To me the interior isnt boring. Its very nice, soft leather very roomy. Sure its not as flashy as say the 2012 TL but its by no means bad. Fit and finish is great, materials are very very nice to the touch.

Yea but the 328i and M3 have a huge gap in terms of power.
230hp vs 414hp

Yet the 3.8 v6 vs 5.0 V8 isnt that huge
333 HP and 291 lb-ft of torque
429 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque

I suppose I am equally impressed with their V6 offering as I am with the Rspec package. I understand the Rspec is more than just an upgraded engine. Cant wait to read the reviews on it. Mainly to see if they found the balance between comfort with sport.

The interior of the Genesis is so beautiful at night. LED everything pretty much. I'm going to Fort Lauderdale again for the 4th weekend and have already reserved the Genesis as my rental. I love this car!

47K$ Hyundai? Never, thanks.

For that money or less , you can get a slightly used 2011 535i or a nice A6Q 3.0T as this one
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...ingId=62206309

Wasn't it supposed to be a 35K$ car?

I guess I just need to sit in one then. My basis for these cars are from reviews and my personal impressions on the brand.

I guess I assumed materials wouldnt be so great just because the price is so cheap for what you get.

guess my judgments are wrong?

well OP is asking others what cars should he consider buying, I was just saying rather than the hyundai i would get the infiniti, my taste in cars points me that way, thats what i meant that everybody has different taste in cars.

Either way this thread has ended on which car to get since he is set on the Genesis, now I'm in for some pics!

Can't wait to see pics of the new Genesis.

Have you looked to see what people are paying with truecar? (I know the R-spec won't be listed yet)

edit...Just checked truecar - 2012 R-Spec = $44,668

Do you have an american express card??

http://amexnetwork.zag.com/main.html..._id=ZAMX000670

Use this, I dunno if you will get the exact price as listed since its pretty close to invoice, but some dealers will get close? Maybe they will even match it.

Also it gets you in touch with what amex thinks are highly certified dealers and those dealers might give you better prices??? Worth a try.

Dude, all of a sudden, you fly in here from nowhere, and everything gets so off topic.

You are so weird man. Can you just be normal for 1 thread??

I'm not trying to be a dick, but every time you get into the discussion, it goes into a wrong direction.

Think about it. Please.
