hey everybody... christmas is coming around and im looking to buy a lens for my parents' rebel xt...

we have the IS 18-55 lens... looking for more of a zoom lens while still kinda general purpose. its just our lenth is too short. looking at the 75-300mm that all the stores have for about 120$. decent? trying to stay under 200$.

maybe looking at a flash as well maybe... but same budget. any ideas? thanks

No, I only had the 1DMkIII, not "s". I wanted to get some bigger lenses when I had Canon, the only way to do so when I made the switch was to get rid of all of it. I didn't want to touch savings to do it.

Nice. That will probably be my next lens... in time.

Now all you need in the 17-55 f2.8 IS and you're pretty much covered.

Shhhh. I might hear you and get an expensive idea....

I would like to find a nice 35mm prime, though. 50mm on a 1.6x is just to tight for me, although I love the f1.8

^ Saw that, will it work (AF) on a EF-S body?

Also looking at the Sigma 30mm 1.4

I have one too, easy there. I just thought that he would have paired the 5D with the 580 for the club work.

I mean, Srika could show up to a fashion shoot with a Kodak Disc camera and an Etcha-Sketch and pull that shit off...

hey I had been using Energizers for like 1.5 years before I started having trouble. I bought a new set of Energizers and had the same trouble. I tried brand new top-shelf Duracell alkalines, same trouble. I would estimate it has 150k+ flashes on it. I spoke with Helix camera here in Chicago and told them the symptoms, they said the flash could be repaired - but it would take 8 weeks, they would have to send it in. And I relly need a flash for NYE!
