There is an ecomuseum about 20 minutes from me. They take in animals found in Canada that may not make it on their own. They have 2 bald eagles, a king eagle, falcons, hawks, caribou, bears, sea otters, a lynx, fox...
Membership is 20$ a year for students, They let you get pretty close to the birds, and any sort of photography is allowed.

I mentioned and posted these pics in the "New Toys" thread a couple weeks ago when I got the Vivitar 285HV and Cactus wireless trigger.... but it was literally my first time experimenting with external flash with a wireless remote/trigger... I was quite amazed on the outcome...
***btw, I'm on the fence of buying a dSLR... it's just NOT in my budget right now... maybe if I sell one of my paintball markers. I just bought that Canon SX10 IS too... maybe I'll sell that
with external flash bounced off ceiling
(my paintball marker setup laying on top of my paintball jersey)
with built in flash

A recent shot I like...
BTW. I know that it seems like the only thing I shoot is my daughter... It isnt because I dont want to shoot anything else. It is just because she is always around, and I dont get out much.

Saw some cool classic cars over the weekend.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ep_jhu/3337016770/" title="Studebaker by ep_jhu, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3320/3337016770_aa4e5526f2.jpg" width="500" height="317" alt="Studebaker" /></a>
I took this picture and really didn't think anything of it. When I got home I almost just skipped it since I didn't think it was worth editing. Out of curiosity I desaturated it, and then it hit me. A little more editing and it ended up being one of my favorites of the day.

Nice start. The scene is cool and the processing is nice. Generally on landscapes, it's better not to have the horizon centered in the image. Also, clean your sensor - that's a nice dust bunny you have.
Cute shot. If only it was brighter. As for only shooting your daughter - at least you're shooting.
I dig this one.
Looks like it's about to bite your woman's shoulder.

^ Crop & desaturate
Good looking girl and a nice lens - lucky guy.
Here's one from today I really like, taken with my new 50mm f/1.8 II:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ep_jhu/3363825903/" title="Hotel Palomar by ep_jhu, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3569/3363825903_81669641ba.jpg" width="500" height="343" alt="Hotel Palomar" /></a>
It was quite dark, yet the wide aperture pulled through. I'm digging this lens

FYI for those in NoVA - for the past few weeks, there have been photogs gathering throughout the day to take pics of a bald eagle who has formed a nest just south of Old Town, Alexandria. I believe it's still there - I saw the eagle perched on a branch on Monday morning.
