Help with Cleaning Rebel XT
Help with Cleaning Rebel XT
So last night I took some pictures of a friends car in a parking structure, and once I loaded them onto the computer, I could see the spots on the white walls of the structure that are dust inside my camera. It's not the lens, the mirror looks to be clean, but I just cant tell.
What's the easiest way to clean it? I will try to get some pics up so you can see the spots I am referring to.....

Usually the air duster works for me. I've even used a turkey baster the first time, which helped a lot
.
But once there was something that just wasn't coming off, so I bought the sensor cleaning kit from copperhill images. Worked great, but at first I was a little hesitant to be touching my sensor. But when a professional sensor cleaning is over $100, I figured I can do it myself
.
I've only had to use it once, but If my sensor looks dirty again, I wouldn't have a problem using it again.

In my manual it says I have to have the sensor cleaned by an authorized dealer. It does not say I can clean it with air, or anything. I heard somewhere that Canon will do it for free? Am I hearing lies or is there any truth to this. It's about time I got this thing cleaned.

^^I've read that even when Canon does it (and I don't think they do it for free) it often comes back no better than it was when it was sent in. You're better off doing it yourself, IMO.
