So I'm working with a interior designer for my new place and she recommended this as an accessory in one of my shelves: http://www.potterybarn.com/products/found-cameras/
I refuse to pay that much for old, nondescript cameras. Does anyone know a good recommendation for free/cheap vintage cameras? I see Polaroid Land cameras and old rangefinders for 25-50/ea on ebay.

Two good looking cameras for decorative purposes for cheap, so I'm happy. I may need to get one or two more to fill in a small shelf. Maybe a Polariod or two under $20?

Maybe some of you guys can tune in
i'm looking to move to full frame for awhile, and sadly nikon hasn't released any cameras out and i'd like to get a bit more low light usability out.
I have the cash for a d3s, but i should look into my options about a used d3 or d700 to save a bit and maybe get a 24 1.4
My setup now is a d300
24-70 2.8 nikon
50mm 1.4 nikon
70-200 2.8 vr1 nikon
135mm 2.0 nikon dc
11-16 2.8 tokina dx
any input on what you guys might decide both good and bads. Trying not to impulse buy after playing with a friends 5dmkII and 24mm 1.4 mk II

My d300 is okay under low light, but the d700 would let me get a few more stops out of it with better noise control. Not to mention my d300 is dated.. about 200k shutters from 2007.
The camera is falling apart grips and could use a service. I would be getting another body to make the d300 a backup.
The question is d700 d3 or d3s
* i might have worded it wrong. i've been waiting for them to launch an update of the d700 or a d4, but nikon hasn't have any rumors.
my d300 has served me well.

personally I think now is a bad time to buy a new DSLR in this range. the new ones are right around the corner. do the best with what you have, and wait it out. the new ones are gonna be crazy and if you get a current one now, you'll be kicking yourself later when the new ones come out.
There really aren't new ones around the corner. Nikon or Canon haven't announced anything.
Even if new ones are announced, who knows when they'll hit retail. Nikon in Sweden has said no new SLR bodies in 2011.

I have the funds for a nikon d3s been waiting for an upgrade for awhile i think i mentioned this to you guys back a year ago or so. The job i'm doing now at the dealership requires shooting quite a bit even though its inventory work, I'm still using my camera also on the side for a bunch of side jobs.
I just was thinking practical if i get a d700 for the mean time and then wait for the new body. Orginally was hoping it announce by july... then aug... then sept lol
Enough waiting if you saw the grips on my d300 you'd know why i don't bring it out on rainy days...

I used to make a fortune off those morons that would hit bridges. Chain up the trailer and tow the big wiggly broken thing back to the shop. Usually put $350 in my pocket for an hour of mostly telling my helpers what to clean upNice spot and
