What you have there stays there, it's anything after downgrading that changes. But it is only $25 per year.
apparently white balancing is overrated... seriously i would never think these pics would get any kind of attention like this - first one is from 2007 and second is 2008 - but these are the 2 licensed so far:
the one that got me 'in':

within 30 mins got this one:

both are HDR's. and its funny that I had a renewed recent interest in HDR; I think I'm going to keep doing em. I forgot how fun it is.
so apparently now I can submit pictures directly into the Getty pool whenever I feel like it, up to 40 a month.

thanks - yeah im not being accurate with these terms - these aren't 'licensed' yet, they are being considered because clients would like to license them. also I am not 'licensed' to Getty like I said earlier, I'm a 'contributor'.
the way these work, you can get any picture licensed. there are release forms up the wazoo. so even for people pics, like my club pics are apparently something they look for. but if there are people in them, I need release forms for them. I dont know how it would work for like, a crowd.
Well for clubs or events they usually have a sign saying "you may be photographed or recorded, by entering you're allowing it to be done and possibly used for commercial work" or something like that.
I've seen it at a club and at hot import nights.

Anyways pretty nifty.
of course. I get 20-40% of the sale, depending on license type. While that may not seem like a lot, a) it sure beats the images sitting around on my hard drive doing nothing and b) images can sell to large companies for large amounts - one of my friends who is on Getty already told me that someone he knows sold a Getty image to Nokia for a billboard, for $18k. Even 20% of that is not too shabby. That is an uncommon example (I think) but still it shows you the potential out there.
Just got my 7d today. The AF System is fckn rad. I mean totally awesome! IQ seems much better then my 40d as well as ISO performance- huge improvement IMHO. So that concludes my review.
Nice. I'm considering using the canon loyalty program to trade in my semi-working 40D for a 7D or 5DII

wonder if they are related to the Flickerboogers ??
