Ahhhhh... I get it.
Jebus, 16GB is a shit ton of pictures.
Next time, bring more memory cards?
I couldn't imagine processing 16GB of RAW images...

i shot RAW+JPG yesterday on the 1DIIn. raw to CF, jpg to SD
to the 7D, good luck bursting with that
an fyi, the buffer only allows for 4 images IIRC on the 7D, it should be 19 on the mkIIn

my point is that there are still some good things about the 1DmkII series' over the 7D.

played with a SD780 - its pretty nice - nice quality pics, doesnt have that overblown look of nightclub shots with a P&S. also very small, and it has 720p too. I heard its going for a around $200-220 or so, not bad at all.

im thinking if i want to get a compact P&S to complement my dSLRs i would get a S90. Although i would like to get the underwater D10

I don't have any from when I was playing with it, if that's what you meant. I'll try getting some from the guy who had it.

time to stock up on some TB drives! what's your long-term plan to handle the added space and backup requirements?

Earth-bound misfit
I've got 2 750GB externals for backup now - each of which has 500GB+ remaining, so I'm ok for now. I'll have to move files off the laptop more frequently, but that's a good thing. I want to add memory to my laptop, just for smoother file handling. I just plan to buy more externals as needed. Thankfully, memory is getting cheaper all the time.
What your files sizes like with the 5D? You shoot more than anyone I know...what's your HD space like?

cool. not too crazy for me, since most of what Ive shot has been JPG (3-5MB). So I have a TB drive at work where I keep my whole library (and sync it once a while by bringing it home to copy stuff over), and I have a couple of TB drives at home with more redundant storage. I do the same I buy more when I need it. But now I'm doing more RAW guess I'll be buying more drives - so amazing to have such cheap drives nowdays.
5D RAW files are between 10-13MB. I'm guessing its because of the 14-bits that yours are considerably higher than 18MB?
