Canon is suppose to raise prices this month. So I think they could have the rebates again. No they it won;t be on the 7D, Canon will do to the 7D like they did for the 5D. Lower production to keep demand high.

Does that mean they will also raise the price for the 7D? I sure hope not.

Current Classic.
maybe I don't understand the advantages of FF. I've read about it and seen the comparisons, but the fact is 95% (or more) of my real experience with DSLR's has been FF. So I don't have any real *personal* experience to base anything off of. All I know is, I was frustrated to ALL FRICKING HELL trying to find wide lenses for this thing - with the 14L being way out of my budget - finally "settling" on the 15 2.8. This is a recent experience that has added additional fuel to my "FF is overrated" fire..

And, I wrote classic at first and changed it to future-classic, I thought 4 years old is still rather modern. /rambling

If IIRC they raised the price before it was released. I thought they said it would be 1599 when released and it's selling for 1699.

But try finding a 2.8 lens for a cropped body that will give you 15mm.

I thought $1699 was in the original press release. Then some stores started listing them for $1799 during the pre-order period, then they came back to $1699.

But I admit my memory ain't the greatest...

I have a 50mm 1.4d the g is costlier but you won't need it unless you prefer the better optics.
Yeah, I've heard good things about the 30mm as well.

I still have a few weeks to look and research.

Look into a 11-16 2.8 tokina if its quite wide. I myself like it just which it had more of a reach but its much quicker than the sigma 10-22

ah yea tokina makes a canon mount and nikon mount oddly enough when I was looking for mine
canons were not sold out and back ordered as much as nikons were. I ran into more canon mount tokina's than waiting for mine.

Because it's a EF-S lens, made by Tokina.

It's an F mount lens can put it on any Nikon body. It's designed for DX but it can be used on FX in crop mode. Plus wouldn't be able to really use it at 11-14. But would still work.
