My fiance has decided that $2000 for a wedding photographer is insane, and we can get one for much less than that! She's now trolling the Craigslist garbage, and told me about how Davids Bridal has a photography service.....and four hours is only $900! I can only imagine the garbage Im going to get in this game of Russian Roulette

Promises, promises. Knowing you, you'll post a pic of said fat-ass with your ultra-wide angle lens and use it as your new avatar.

My Brother-in-law brought me a demo of the new Tamron 24-70 2.8 to play with. I will post some image samples later. I like the lens. The price is a little steep but it performs and feels better than I expected.

It is heavy but not too heavy focus is fast and performs even in low light.

I enjoyed the one I rented for a wedding last summer.

I covet the 135L after using one for my brother's engagement session a couple of weeks ago.

as some of you surely know, Leica introduced a fully B&W only version of the M9. It costs $1k more than the regular model. Have a look at some sample shots.

well, as I said before, it would just make you be much more frugal and selective in what you shoot and how you shoot it. and, you would take as much care as possible to 'get it right' SOOC.

Memory is too cheap for frugality and selectivity.

Now getting it right, is always good though.

eh. I don't know about you but I don't want to be toting around 10 32GB cards to bring home full at the end of the day.

furthermore, 32GB cards you would use on a D800 go for around $90. Not exactly "cheap".

Let's see, first memory card I bought; 256mb for $260. You sound like those who are upset buying a "sports" car, then mad you have to put premium in it.

Are you carrying a CD burner with you to back up images?

In the scope of what the camera cost, $90 is cheap. And if $90 is too much for someone using this camera. I suggest they get a 6GB D50.

As said; premium gas is about 15 to cents 20 more the regular.

Just like people bitching they have to spend $125 for an extra battery and buy some cheap ass generic. When the camera cost over 3k.

oh I am definitely NOT one of those people! I buy whatever "goes with" it.

by your logic, you'd also need a new current computer with 24gb of RAM to process the images. oh and, a D800 can be had for under 3k.

this is not the creme de la creme of cameras or anything. hell, I'd call it prosumer, at that price point.

D800 list price $2999.99 find me one for cheaper. Yeah, because $500 more, is a pro camera.

RAM is cheap as well.

I still remember when I first started personal training, back in the late 90s... a client of mine showed me her new MP3 that could fit 20 songs (or something like that)... and told me how much it was, I was like "WTF? No, thanks... I'll stick with my Sony MiniDisc"
