This isn't a favorite, hence putting it here in Random, but it turned out well enough considering how bad I am at night shots

Thanks all, I appreciate your kind comments. I don't see it as a fav, mainly because of the break in the clouds. If it could have been cloudy all the way up or cloudless all the way up, I think it would have looked better. But, as we all know, we can be our own worst critics.

and that's the wonderful thing about showing other people your work, you never really know how "good" it is unless you get some outside opinions.

You're so right, and that's the reason I like to post here and at another site to see if others look at my photos the way I do. You really get some insight as to what appeals to a wider mass audience. On the other end, I really love to see what others show, as it exposes me to ideas I never would have thought of....especially your club photos

thanks...yes thats sheikra..
as for sharpening...i do that last after resizing...i make my adjustments then resize and convert to jpg to whatever size i want then i sharpen...all using DPP...
in the photo above i made minor adjustments...it's pretty much SOOC...25 second exposure at f/7 with the camera sitting on the railing...i resized it in DPP then opened it back up with DPP...sharpened to i think 25 then thats it...hope that helps...

Yeah, I think it does. I must be sharpening too soon, especially for reducing for the web. I'll try it that way next time...thanks

closing out Thanksgiving day, I casually gave my 8-yr old niece the 7D with the 6.5mm attached. She goes and takes this photo of her sister. I think it's amazing. I did obviously crop it and process a tad.

a-ha! you see, in reality nothing is distorted or crooked - all the distortion you see is from the fisheye lens and the angle of the camera!

oh uh. you knew that, right.

I guess I would have assumed that the distortion of the bottom line of the painting would be the same as the baseboard. I am not a lens physics rocket scientist, though.

this is a weird lens. get weird effects depending on the FL and how you're holding it. check this shot out - no processing on this, SOOC. the one in green is the one who took the above shot -
