Adding a turbo wouldn't refine or make a nissan engine smoother, it would allow them to actually come out with a small 4cylinder with 180hp+ instead of having to use a large engine thats gonna suck fuel/add weight.
Guess we'll know in 4 days.
Think its safe to say, as far as na i4's go, honda is the best.

But on a serious note, they're finally making 3.5L V6 engines that are giving Nissan stiff competition. Their four banger's though are nothing to get excited over.

Where do you get your information. Nissan hasn't re-tested any of their cars as its optional on current models. Honda, Toyota and GM decided to re-test their entire line-up while Ford, Chrylser and presumably everyone else will use SAE moving forward on new cars only.

Smoke right? I'm sure its slightly quicker but they are both low 15 sec 1/4 mile cars. And it has everything to do with weight, not the engine.

i doubt the specv would "smoke" a tsx. i'm sure it would be close. but with the spec v, in the end you're still driving an econobox that's ugly inside and out.

also, i was comparing engines between the cars. you stated that nissans 2.5, which suddenly only came in the sentra when you were talking about price , already makes 170-180hp. i just wanted to state "so what?" honda makes more hp with less displacement. more displacement is not a bad thing, but when it's the only way you can increase power that's bad. i'm sure nissan could squeeze some more power out of the vq35.

TSX = 15.9 pounds per horse
And that is with Nissans claimed horsepower

HERE'S ANOTHER TEASER.
I like it ALOT. It's very sporty, and brings the rear closer to the Maxima's without simply copying it. That rear lamp is really long along the rear fender. Also, look at the length of the wheelbase. It seems this all new Altima will be truly comparable in size with the Camry now.

"smoking" was a bad choice of word, but i'd put money on the SpecV everytime.
btw, again, why compare a nissan sentra to a acura TSX? or even the alty 2.5 to the TSX? they're much much cheaper than the TSX.
and i believe nissan can squeeze out more power from the VQ35, but why bother? VQ35 did it's thing, time to move on...jus like toyota learned to do.

She said: it's GINORMOUS!
middle dash looks like a combo of the accord, pontiac, and jetta styling.
nissan's managed to make a 2nd gen that's uglier then the accord....not hot at all.

it does have the pushbutton start...if you look between the gauges at the little info-screen, it shows the "foot" pushing the pedal and an arrow pushing the button.
But besides that, from these views and with those tailights, it looks like a G6
