I'm really starting to like the looks of this.
I could see this being my next car.

Not that I'll be buying a car anytime soon...

Interior looks great! My only gripe is the shift gate looks a little cheap, but other than it gets a from me.

I said "kind of"...I do think it's an improvement, it just looks kind of bulky to me in the center console/gear shift area. Maybe it's the auto shifter that's killing it for me .

That thing looks really good in black IMO. Interior looks good too (though I am sick of every new Nissan stealing the G37 dash design)....

^ Called economy of scale. You have to reap back the R&D $$$ so you spread it over the whole range of vehicles. Small changes here and there. But the molds get used to the max.

Call it 'cheapening out' the G37 ... but if it makes the bean counters at Nissan/Infiniti happy ... then sobeit.

The GT-R, however, will have its own unique interior since it is the "halo car", after all.

I love the new look of the car's interior. I even like the different color seats. The only thing that bothers me, though, is that the interior has been elevated to Infiniti's level of refinement without Infiniti becoming more luxurious in the process. All Nissan brand products can greatly benefit from this new treatment, first seen in the new Max. However, the design and switchgear is lifted from the new Gs and redesigned M. Infinitis should recieve further refinement now, and certainly different designs and switchgear from Nissans to further elevate Infiniti. I look forward to seeing the next gen M. If it's interior and exterior design is unique to Infiniti, and the car doesn't look like a big Nissan, I'll buy it.

Yeah, I forgot about the Murano. But you get the point... basically, it'll be across the whole Nissan line before long, which is very cool. However, it definitely necessitates Infiniti being taken to another level. Besides Infiniti also absolutely needing a next gen Q (Q50 Please!!!), I see that as a must for the Infiniti line. As for money, I have just a little; hopefully more by the time the next M comes out. I really love the XF but there's no way I'm going to be able to afford that.

Same here. I hate that hoodline, and its disappointing to see that same sickle cell shape on the tails AND the headlights. Can't believe they're sticking to the fang look too, it makes the front of the Z look like a depressed bat.

The interior is a big improvement, though I see a couple things that are nearly identical to the current Z.

and wtf on competing with Porsche? The current 350Z is a pig and no doubt from the looks of how the G37's grown, chances are the new Z will be bigger too but at least it'll be somewhat lighter.

I'll never get the dash instrument cluster "pod" look. I like it on a motorcycle but to me it has no place in a car, but that's just IMO. I think the overall appearance of the interior has vastly improved, but the damn pod just kills it for me.

I definitely like the looks of the exterior, being one of the few to see it in person, although it was slightly cloaked. I'm not a huge fan of the fangs but as someone else pointed out if it's a deal killer you could always wait for an aftermarket kit to be made.

I wonder how the 3.7 VQ will be tuned in the Z. Similar to the G coupe?

<--- hoping to see a 500Z variant with the powertrain from the FX50. A 390hp Nismo (or Track) Z with that powertrain would slot in nicely between the GT-R and ~330hp Z.

And just for the record, I would not sweat the auto tranny much (provided its not CVT...which is not likely to be the case). Not unlike GM LS motored cars, you wont miss the manual tranny much with VQ applications except on the very edge of the performance envelope.

I don't think a V8 makes sense in a Z right now.

I am expecting either the same HP claim or very slightly higher. Like 5-10 HP higher.

A V8 option would be sweet, if this whole Porsche-fighter thing isn't just a rumor. Given with the performance of the GT-R I wouldn't doubt it at all, the the V8 would be the final piece in the puzzle. GT-R as the 911 TT fighter and the 500Z for the Cayman, Boxster, etc. Maybe a VK50HR with even more power than in the FX50 or something.

Makes you wonder, if they actually did that with the Z, what would they do with the G? Maybe an RS4/M3/etc. fighter? For consumers sake I hope they do do something like that.

I get your point but I think the pods sorta add a sporty touch. They're not integrated extremely great, especially now with the hijacked G center stack, but its better than some plain old VirtualBoy display like in the G8

Looking pretty much like what everyone has been expecting for months now, the 2010 Nissan 370Z dropped this morning. The company hasn't released any details, although from the new nomenclature we can surmise that the sports car contains the new 3.7L V6 as used in the Infiniti G37. The new Z goes on sale early in 2009, and we'll see it live at the LA Auto Show in a few weeks.

Polarizing styling. Not a fan of several things: rear end, steering wheel, ride height.

Also I thought Infiniti heard enough gripes from folks about putting seat controls on the inner edge of the seats, now not only is one of them back, but they also left the other non power controls on the outside of the driver's seat.

I dont think they will go with a V8 in the Z.... considering their flagship only has a V6 but then again I hear the GTR is gonna be very limited so likely its sales wouldnt be stolen just people who were too late will get a V8 instead

looks pretty good too, I won't be considering it as I'm not a big fan of it, but on the whole I wouldnt put down/look down at anyone who decides to buy it.

Although I still believe the 350/370 is a disgrace to its predecessor the Z32 300ZX

I like the interior. Steering wheel is pretty cool. The exterior is like/dislike. I might like it more in person.

Its going to hammered on rearward visibility and blind spots. Not that the 1st gen was anything great in that dept.

^As do I. I especially love the slope of the roofline (reminds me of an old 240/260/280), the back end, and the rear fenders.
