All right, mean looking it is, muscular it is, athletic it is, beautiful IT IS NOT!!! People need to find the appropriate words to describe things.
Utility wise, this can't compare to MDX. Let's see how this handles. The V8 definitely competes with X5; maybe X6.
Before people get carried away, what's special about the interior? It's just like any other Infiniti we've seen before. I still don't like the vertical vents. And it's about time they get rid of that clock.

I saw the new CTS and it also has an analog clock.

Anyway, the interior of the new FX follow the same layout of the new EX and G. It's done nicely and communicates the luxury feeling very well.

The analog clock is a nice signature touch of Infiniti's why would they get rid of it? I personally love the fact that they have the analog clock in there, it looks pimp

Personally I don't think it's "beautiful" and is a far cry from "ugly" (unlike the new RL grille) but it has kept its character rather than trying to redefine itself or push itself off as something else and being all things to all people, which in this segment is unnecessary and would water down the design.

If Honda were smart, the next gen RL better be exponentially better than the current version, and call it the Legend. I don't care if the rest of the lineup remains alphanumeric, either.

I think the 09 looks great, just looks more aggressive and the exterior actually has some shape now vs. the previous model's egg like appearance. Makes it look rather dated at this point.
The interior is a major improvement.

That doesn't mean it suddenly doesn't look good.

Sweet... my current fx lease is up in november, looks like i am getting another one.
My only complaint (other than the gas mileage) was the interior. Looks ok now but i am sick of the orange, the new interior is sick.
Every angle looks better except the front to me. Still love my exhaust note and wheels, infiniti is right on track.

^ interior is awesome. I also didn't notice the wave design in the grille until I looked at more pics online. This is one exterior design I don't like and don't anticipate that to change when I see it in person.

What Would Don Draper Do?
i apologize if this has already been explained or if it's
but why are they using the 3.5 instead of the 3.7?
and don't be sad, is300eater. the current FX is still one of the meanest looking cars on the road.

i think the 3.7 is a high revving engine
Which would probably be fine in the g but not as appropriate in an suv/cuv
I would like to see it, but i am sure the fx is set up for a different torque curve being a porker and all. (compared to the g)

I can't wait, next week I'm buying some 22s off a guy from the FX forum... he's parting out all his mods cuz he's gettin' something else... (they're 3pc forged!)
but as far as the question regarding why 3.5 instead of 3.7? I dunno... I hate it when car companies pull that shit... It's like BMW going from 330 to 335 after a couple years (if I remember right)

But then again BMW has kinda been funky with their engines for a while now ... the x28 designation hasn't really meant you get a 2.8L either. Some years it's a 2.5L others (like now) it's a 3.0L

We should know something for sure before August.

Infiniti reveals all-new FX 35

From Leftlanenews...
Infiniti has released the goods on its V6-powered FX crossover vehicle, and it won't be the FX 37 as previously speculated. Instead, Infiniti will soldier on with the FX 35, complimenting the V8-powered FX 50. That means that the FX 35 will use the same 3.5L V6 found under the hood of the G35.
But in FX guise, the VQ35HR powerplant will make slightly less power than the sedan — 303 instead of the sedan 306 horsepower. The FX 35 will use a new seven-speed automatic transmission that features manual shift mode, Adaptive Shift Control and Downshift Rev Matching. Solid magnesium paddle shifters will be optional.
As with the previous model, the new FX 35 will be available in two and all-wheel drive, which Infiniti calls ATTESA E-TS — short for Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All Electronic Torque Split.
The FX 35 should also retain its sporty nature, thanks to a fully independent sports-tuned suspension and a near perfect 52/48 weight distribution.
Look for the all-new FX 35 to roll into dealer showrooms this June.

I hope this gives it a bit better ride over the bumps, which I think is the only thing it needs aside from the interior already being redone. The 18's crash hard over any bumps, and test driving the 20's made my jaw shake.
The price of the right look outside I suppose.
