- Red Bull Racing and Infiniti have a Marketing agreement
- Infiniti is a sponsor for Red Bull Racing
- Vettel has a personal contract with Infiniti to act as their Global Brand Ambassador
Let's not forget that Renault also supplies engines to Red Bull, and Renault have a controlling stake in Nissan. The Red Bull RB7 has Infiniti logos on it, along with the driver suits and other apparel (as part of the marketing agreement). Webber and Vettel have also been doing promotional demonstrations in various Infiniti vehicles at races this year (G37 IPL at the Canadian GP, M35h at the German GP, G37 in China,...). The whole thing is purely a marketing/brand exercise, which is pretty silly since Infiniti have contributed nothing to F1 except money, and that's only very recently.
@ any notion Vettel's promoting Infiniti totally of his own accord.
Agreed. While I understand it from a business standpoint, I think it wouldve been better to make a Vettel edition GT-R since people would see the similarities.

Although it’s BMW that’s generally accepted for instigating the coupe-like SUV segment with the 1st-generation X6, some credit should be given to Infiniti whose slinky FX was introduced several years prior to the BMW.
The FX is currently in its 2nd generation and known today as the QX70. The 2nd-generation model has been on sale since 2008, but 2017 will be the FX/QX's last year on the market as Infiniti has decided to drop the vehicle.
Infiniti has confirmed to Automotive News (subscription required) that there won’t be a 2018 QX70. Instead, the automaker will focus on redesigned versions of the QX50 and QX80 which will feature next-generation design themes. Both vehicles are expected on the market in the next 12 months. The good news is that the QX70 won’t disappear for good. According to Automotive News’ sources, a redesigned model is in the works. This new QX70 is expected to arrive for the 2021 or 2022 model year, but instead of the more premium rear-drive platform of the current generation the new model is expected to adopt the front-wheel-drive platform found in Nissan’s Murano and Pathfinder.
For the current QX70’s last year on the market, Infiniti is offering a QX70 Limited model which offers a number of additional luxuries. The sole powertrain is a 325-horsepower 3.7-liter V-6 mated to a 7-speed automatic.
I dunno, I know the FX is not for everyone. But, compared to some of the other cross-overs from the lux market, I'd say it's a supermodel. The Mercedes' 2 recent entries and the BMW's X6 and X4s are just hideous.
IMO, QX70 was for the people that wanted one. Lease incentives were never good, it was more expensive than the bigger QX60, and it started to become a niche vehicle. Personally, I didn't have a problem with it, just didn't like that it felt a bit wide from how the fenders flowed from the sides of the hood. Going to be really disappointing if it's a rebadged Murano in a few years since it was one of the first "performance" RWD crossovers and the whole new tagline is "empower the drive". I already don't like that the next QX50 is supposedly going to be transverse/FWD when all the recent commercials were about "coupe-like" handling. IMO, keep it RWD on a revised FM platform, throw in the 400-hp VR30DDTT and they'd seriously sell. I mean, I'd get one.
I remember When FX35/45 first came out, it was a big hit...styling and performance.... but this is what happens when you don't provide a real update for over a decade.

Never really considered the FX as a X4/X6 or GLC/GLE Coupe type vehicle. Didn't have that SUV Coupe look to it.

Compared to the last gen fx/QX70...the Merc and Bimmer look like victoria's secret models. I mean like them anyway...but the 2nd gen FX/QX is just ugly...

Yeah, goes to show right there how these cross-over SUV/CUVs can be so polarizing.
Best looking one is probably the Macan. Nothing comes close to it's style. I also really love Evoque but I'm sure again, on both these some people may find them hideous.
The FX definitely needs to be updated interior-wise.
Still, it's sorta interesting to see that all the features I've had since Nov. 2009 are NOW just getting into cars. The lane-departures, 4-way cameras, auto-stop...I thought the FX was quite the envelope-pusher for features...and well, the 390HP V8 is fun too.
