Got rid of those damn runflats and added some 19s on my '17 BMW 340

Posted a few months ago on what car to get and ended up with a '17 BMW 340i xDrive - car has been good, lots of fun - but really hated those runflat tires. Rather than unmount the runflats and have to remount them again later when I return the car (it is leased) - I decided to buy a new set of rims and some "regular" all season tires ...

It took awhile to settle on a set of rims, and was really annoyed when I found one I really liked, but they were OOS everywhere (I think they are discontinued actually) - but luckily I found a used set of VMR V710s in Gun Metal.

Didn't get a chance to take any better photos yet - this is just right after I got the tires mounted (Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+'s in 225/40/19 fronts and 255/35/19 rears) - so the car is a little dirty, but I thought I'd share them!

Good decision, and good choice of wheel (style and color).

What an absolutely beautiful garage. What packages does your BMW have beside M Sport?

Thanks - I have almost every package except the Track Handling Package. I decided I wanted the Active Cruise Control instead (you can't have both unfortunately).

So it has - Cold Weather Package, Driver Assistance Package, Driver Assistance Plus Package, Lighting Package, M-Sport Package, Technology Package, M Performance & Sound

I also have the Adaptive M Suspension and Apple CarPlay.

That's dumb they won't let you have both. Beautiful car anyway.

Agree - I'm not a fan of the manufacturer telling you what options you can and cannot put on a car (unless they directly conflict, like mud flaps and side sills). The claim is that the track handling package requires additional cooling because they assume you're tracking the car - and the active cruise control sensor is right in front of the radiator and would inhibit cooling. But when the F30 first came out - it was allowed.

It is like Acura/Honda when you can only get a white car with a tan interior. Black not allowed

Make that triplets!

OP, love the garage set up. How did you make it so the garage door doesn't hit the car on the lift?

Nice looking wheels.

I might have to do some research but Track handling packages comes with sport suspension and X drive with or without M sport do not have Sport suspension. But obviously, you can get the Adaptive M suspension with any trim.

This might sound very confusing to non-BMW owners

edit: Track comes with Adaptive M suspension for both X and S drives. . which makes sense now.

Don't forget BMW gives you the non-adaptive LED headlight and M sport trim as standard equip, yet they still want to charge you for back up camera.......

Wheels look great.

Where did you get that lift and how much did it run you if you don't mind sharing? Thanks

I have a high lift garage door opener. Had an installer come in and install a Liftmaster 8500 Jackshaft garage door opener instead of the one that sits where my S2000 is now

Here is an example of how it looks (not my video though) -
in this video the garage door opener is in the upper left hand side.

I bought my lift from a local installer - the brand name is "Quality Lifts" which is Challenger Lifts' consumer brand. Their lifts meet ANSI safety standards for lifts. There are cheaper lifts out there, but the quality is more questionable and safety is definitely of the utmost importance for the lift

The cost was about $3000 delivered and installed in my garage. The installer was able to move the location of the locks to make sure it was in an ideal location for when both cars were parked.
