Maybe Honda realizes refreshing the RL won't help, so why waste the time, money and effort involved.
And last I checked this thread was about the M. I was never a fan of the that rear end. Looks better now.

Hope they can make it the Q50 or something else. My cousin got confused when my folks first had the I35. She thought it was the G35 and when she saw it the I35 the first time she had this shocked and disappointed look on her face. A few months later my folks traded in the I35 for a G35 because the I35 had the crappiest turn radius ever.

yeah i've driven both. the TSX does have a bad turn radius, not as bad as the I35 did though. to prove it, i did a U-turn with the TSX and it wasn't that bad, but worse than my old 99 Accord. at least with the TSX i didn't have to stop, reverse, and go back to drive again unlike the I35, geez that was horrible. great car with the sunshade, but only con was the bad turn radius.

OTOH, letting a model languish as-is for 4-5 years hurts because sales/popularity tapers off and bottom out, so no one notices that model towards the end of its life which adds to depreciation.

What if the M is refreshed next year and it's generally not liked? Well, that could actually make low mileage 07's more desirable. The opposite can just as easily happen. Also, incentives, and general trends in the entire segment, can effect things. The only thing I've seen that will guaranteed hurt resale value is when a manufacturer starts throwing incentives on a model (effectively reducing the price). It ripples INSTANTLY into the used market for those same cars. Good news is it rebounds when those incentives go away.
Bottom line; save the brain cells to worry about something else. If you like a car, buy it. When you amatorize the monthly money made or lost from differences in resale value, it comes out to be small stuff compared to your monthly payment.

No, a slight refresh on a current body style does not hurt resale values.
Remember...most people are buying used because they don't want to buy new for any number of reasons and with that they generally aren't that picky.

for the record, i love the new grille on the new g35 and the refreshed m. the whole "samurai blade" concept is way cool.

The european Honda Legend (same car) also has a cool lane departure system that makes minor steering corrections for you -- and a few other goodies.
I think our legal system scares the Japanese. Scares me too
