The Hyundai is just an inferior vehicle. It has buttons on the console and on the steering wheel in two years it will be playing catch up again along with all other manufacturers when Honda comes out with "thought recognition technology." You will be able to just think and the car will be able to respond.
Superior side mirror images will be implanted in your mind's eye and you will not only beat inferior cars like Hyundais, Bentley drivers will envy you. You will just "think" tier 1 and the thought recognition tech will remind you that you are in a tier 1 vehicle with simulated wider tires, no buttons anywhere, and higher ground clearance because you thought so.

really? Claimed?? Let me guess, they are claiming the 385 hp but it probably is more like 280???

And you're right, all the key features that separate a Premium brand from family boat aside from having a RWD layout and V8 power.
Yes, you get a proper RWD-platform, a Ward's ten-best V8 engine and a ZF transmission used in the 7 Series, Range Rover, Jaguar XJ and XF.

There is no sense in trying to have an intelligent conversation with SSFTSX. He just spouts the same Honda/Acura talking points no matter what you say....

10 years ago LS/BMW 7 also dont have that large back seats. but they had V8/V12. It does not make them less premium
RWD is not indication of premium brand. there are 1970s Toyota Corona RWD. nor is V8. otherwise what those Taxis are using.
Infiniti has used this clock since 1989-90 and consistently in big car.
proper RWD-platform that handle worse than FWD ES350. Even smaller RWD Geneisis is not better than FWD TL let alone SH-AWD. what matter is end result. Hyundai is not BMW that can create proper RWD platforms.
It is the arrival of AWD A8 that is going to transform this market segment. It is not the same market segment that it used to be. There is reason of BMW 7 and LS sport versions. 6 cylinder engines are acceptable in this class. BMW 7 is already equiped with it. and soon Audi A8 will come in 6 cylinder that will perform better than Hyundai 8 cylinder.

Uhh, I guess the watch is stupid in Maserati and other luxury brands which Infiniti, itself, copied. - lol

hmmm why is SSFTSX so defensive??
i don't think any one mentioned that Equus is going to out-perform S/7/A8/LS/etc etc etc
so why is he keep saying this and that blow away equus and "you get what you pay for"
maybe he's just scared of more people starting to trash talk honda/acura and giving props to hyundai

I now know why they keep ssftsx around. We need a resident fanboi troll who switches allegiance every so often.

Because we can't ban just because someone has an opinion...Certainly, his views are...polarizing. But, he has a right to say what he does...even if most of us do not share his sentiments.

Uhh, first off European brands such as Maserati have been using a center-stack clock before Infiniti was a speck on some Nissan exec's eye.
My comments about rear seat leg room was a swipe about your erroneous claim about the rear seat leg room in the Sonata.
And RWD is a major consideration for what constitutes "premium" and a major reason why Acura is not considered a tier 1 luxury brand, even by Honda/Acura execs.
Here are the latest sales and incentive spending figures for the "luxury" brands.

I have a feeling that you know who is going to spin this...
And oh, while the Genesis needs some tweaking, the Genesis RWD platform has been highly praised.

Pitting it against a similarly equipped (but $2,320 more expensive) Mazda RX-8 (provided by Hyundai) around an autocross course, the Hyundai demonstrated a near total aversion to understeer. In comparison, the RX-8's front washed wide under power around the 1st and 2nd gear 90-degree corners, those same corners had us taking advantage of the Coupe's comparatively prodigious mid-range and considerably greater front-wheel grip to slide the rear around. Back on the racetrack an Infiniti G37S — much more expensive, but nevertheless close in spec, it's also a 5-seat RWD coupe with a 300+ HP V6 — was noticeably harder to read, displayed considerably more body roll and had a tendency to enter into near-uncontrollable slides when it wasn't understeering. It was also much slower.
The best thing about the Genesis Coupe is the chassis. Equipped with the Track pack — larger Brembo brakes, thicker anti-roll bars, 19" wheels, summer tires, stiffer suspension, a limited-slip differential on the 2.0T (standard on the 3.8) — it's a near-ideal budget trackday car that you could also drive everyday on the road. There's no body roll; the brakes are powerful and don't fade; there's plenty of feel through the cheapo steering wheel and there's a wonderful neutrality between under and oversteer. Enter a corner too fast and the front will eventually push - the actual limit being surprisingly high - but crack open or lift off the throttle and the rear will rotate in a completely controllable manner. It's the kind of car that rewards good driving, but would also help relatively novice drivers learn to drive fast in a real sports car safely.

Just stop feeding the troll and put him on your ignore list. Trying to get this guy to be sensible is impossible....it's not worth your time and energy. If you keep poking him, this topic will get locked.

70% of Infiniti Sales are G series/FX. How can Infinit have higher transaction price. You can hardly get big discounts on MDX.
This so called Hyundai coupe will be embarrsed by Honda Accord Coupe 6MT HFP packagae. both in straight line and in curves. with luxury wind noise reduction.
Hyundai better concentrate on rectifying its 12th position in Consumer reports. It happened to Nissan/Chrysler in 80-90s. Nissan never recovered despite 20 year Auto lead over Honda once it quality perception in consumer fell off.

Discounts on the MDX are higher than ever, the latest reports say $5000 under dealer invoice. That's without barganining. They have to beg people to move these turds off the lot.

But the MDX a turd? I think its clearly their best vehicle overall and certainly the best looking. It would be at the top of my list if I was luxury SUV shopping.

The fact that the MDX is their "best" looking vehicle is just sad IMO. It looked better before the MMC but it has never really been a looker to me. I would take an RX over it (just like most people do)....

And while they may be the best looking acura they are still turds. Make the thing a little larger and more usable and i might look at it.

This is most realistic assessment of RX/EX avg price. They are certainly lower than 2011 MDX.
http://www.financialpost.com/most+ex...338/story.html
All things being equal, for instance, you might choose the Mercedes GLK over the Lexus RX 350, because the former is the lowest-priced midsize luxury crossover. The Mercedes has an average market price of US$33,709, while the Lexus sells for an average US$35,542. But when you factor in the five-year cost of ownership for both vehicles, the Lexus turns out to be the better bargain. It will cost US$52,381 to own over five years, compared with US$53,361 for the Mercedes. Or you might consider the Infiniti EX 35, which sells for an average of $33,854, just a bit more than the Mercedes, but has the lowest cost of ownership in the segment at US$50,704.

I think the TSX and MDX do look good... I agree, the grill grew on me quickly on both of those. I like the body lines on the TSX a lot, and I think the MDX with the beak actually looks better than before.
The TL can look good, if you lower it, smoke the lower parking lights (?), get the RJ grille, paint match the trunk trim, smoke the rear fogs, and get a nice set of wheels. But all that shouldn't be necessary, and lowering a car and putting another set of wheels on it will make almost any car look better.

Much better IMO.
I'm still not a huge fan of the TSX and we're getting off topic here but the '11 with the revised grille is looking pretty good. Although that still doesn't help the cars overall shape which IMO needs work.

so, this page 9 doesn't have much of equus talk
right before i was writing this, i was confused which thread i was reading because, pretty much in any hyundai thread, SSFTSX makes stupid comments about other cars and make comparisons.. at one point, it's really not a comparison anymore.. what an idiot
