The price of Mustang went up every year, huh?

I remember when my brother in law bought a brand new Mustang GT back in 2006, it wasn't that expensive even with a lot of options.

Just curious...have you looked at other cars yet? NOWHERE are you going to find a 420 HP car for less $$$ than a 5.0 Mustang. Believe me...I've looked. Plus they are so fawkin good looking.

However, you could get a new 135i for $46 -50K...for that wonderful interior....

Oh, I know. I am in no way saying the Mustang isnt a phenomenal deal for 400+hp and the package it delivers.

However, you can get something like this - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...item337593ca85 for just a bit more.

I know, I know. Used vs. new, warranty, no back seat. However, if you're going for a performance car for close to $40k there is no comparison.

I think part of the problem is that cars continue to rise in cost near the rate of inflation, but how many people have consistently gotten 3% raises in the past 5 years? I am lucky to say that I have, and then some, but most people are making less money than they did 5 years ago and sticker prices continue to inch up with inflation.

I have considered going that route. But I just have a mental block about spending 40K on a 6 year old car. I know it sounds stupid, but 40 large is too much for me to spend on something used unless it's really exotic or a 2010 or newer model.

Mustang. Camaro just looks too cartoonish, IMO.

I know the feeling but after driving one...I've done a 180 on my opinion. It is a compelling car.

I don't know where you get "tank" from, unless you're speaking about build quality.

But, then you have to see it from the outside again when you aren't driving it.

Its funny...all cars are trade offs. I don't know of a singular perfect car.

I had my mind pretty much made up on the 5.0. Love the size and weight of the car. Love the feel. Great price for the performance. I'm even willing to chance the dreaded MT82.
The Camaro is just compelling with regard to build quality and materials in comparison to the Mustang. Better suspension than the Mustang...Brembos on all 4 corners...but it is 3-4K more than the Mustang.

Trade offs....

Yet most of us in this area no longer own said cars

I think the Mustang looks much better then the Camaro. I like the interior. I especially like the engine.

Can I say everything?

There really wasn't anything that I like more about Camaro than Mustang. I'm serious.

I mean it's your car, get the one that you like the most.

Interesting...the interior is the one thing, where I think the Camaro crushed the Mustang, which I didn't anticipate. And believe me I really like the Mustang, but the build and interior really threw me for a loop.

I'll probably still get the 5.0, but it is not a slam dunk anymore. It's largely due to price.

I just didnt like the layout on the Camaro interior.

The Mustang interior is not without its faults, but Id rather have that then the Camaro.

Though, at this point we're debating personal preference, which is a lose-lose.

I say BOSS 302 if you go the Mustang route... that fucking car is bad ass.

Totally agree with you on the Mustang v. Camaro interiors. Mustang has some issues, but that gauge cluster on the Camaro says "Fisher Price - My First Pony Car" to me.

BOSS 302 w/recaros > SS

If I was a single guy right now that would be my choice, three years ago it would've been a 370Z. I could even make it happen with my two huskies lol. The Stang is the car you wanna keep even if you find the right woman, make her give up the Civic and buy the SUV

My guess: it will also have direct injection.

It is supposed to be smaller and lighter as well.

Add the 5.0 and possible turbo charged version to those rumors and I can see it being an international hit.

Lightbulb 6th gen 2015 Mustang interior and redline spied

Good look at the 2015 Mustang test mule's interior.

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51

Shows future headunit, tach, speedo. Other than that it's probably mostly just parts bin stuff for testing only.

it would have been cooler if you added the pics!!!
The next generation 2015 Mustang has been spied again and the latest pics might be a first look at part of its center stack. The mule's interior is very raw, but a very non-Mustang center stack control set-up is screwed into place.

The mule is also outfitted with a new steering wheel, taken from the 2013 Ford Fusion. The new wheel allows for more infotainment and connectivity options, which means that when its wired to a fresh, modernized interface such as the unit inside this mule, the Mustang will likely take a step forward in the user-interface department. The screen is on the smaller side, given the trend toward larger displays, but this model is also outfitted with a conventional button array, so something like an upgraded MyFordTouch interface may bring with it a bigger LCD.

The exterior shots show a mule without any sort of grille-work, giving us a peek a bit further back toward the powerplant. We've looked for obvious signs of turbocharging, but as far as we can tell, we don't see a smoking gun for the Ecoboost here. Ecoboost is rumored to be in the next Mustang's product plans, but word is that it will be the 2.0-liter unit, and not anything upsized like the 3.5-liter V6 Ecoboost engine.

There are also more photos of the Mustang mule's undercarriage, revealing the next gen's Independent Rear Suspension in detail.

Don't pay attention to the exterior styling as that's just a current Mustang body on the next generation chassis for testing purposes.

I'm really hoping Ford improves the quality of materials in the interior. Those pictures aren't helping my hope.
