Love it. But I also loved the previous gen.

And dare I say this F10 looks a little too much like a 3 series?

For those who don't know, the F10 has Bangle design influence all over it. Everywhere you look, you see concaves, convexes, light, shadow. This is flame surfacing done at its best. That's what Bangle brought to the design world. F10 design is complete when Bangle announced his departure from BMW.

What this tells you - when it comes to car design, the general philosophy might be there, but it's really about the individual design execution. As the design chief, Bangle doesn't design individual vehicles. To find out who designed what, see here: http://www.bmwism.com/bmws_designers.htm

The current chief Adrian van Hooydonk actually designed the famous Bangle butt on the previous 7 series. A Japanese designer designed the current 3 series sedan.

that was my first impression but looking at more pictures, it has its own style in it

it's kinda like how audi has its "family look"
i mean look at A4 and A5..

I like it, but I'm already used to the design cues. The 3 and the 7 made this iteration easy to guess.

Maybe I need to see the M5 already....

I like a lot more than the E60, but I thought that was an unattractive car even in M5 guise. I like the rear and sides a lot, and the front is nice but for some reason I feel it could use some tweaking. As mentioned it does resemble the 3-series and 7-series a bit, though I don't think that's a bad thing at all.

L shaped rear taillights have been a signature BMW design for some time. Other car makers like Infiniti do a terrible job implementing it.

F10 is in a sense a sausage of different length, compared to the 3 and 7. And that's the way people like it.

i think F10 looks better than E60 in almost all aspects, except the front and headlights.

With the current lineup, BMW has more than ever a "same sausage different lenght" sedan lineup. Those mileage figures are pretty impressive even after factoring in the IMP gal measurements. It would be interesting to see how well their start-stop technology on a diesel works.

Rear end looks too much like a 3 series, which I don't care for either. Especially don't like the taillights. But the front looks good.

As usual, the interior is blah. The materials look nice, but the design sucks.

I guess you missed the part when I said it REMINDS me of Infiniti design. Nothing wrong with something reminding one of another thing. No one ever said BMW copied Infiniti.

Just another instance where LessIsBest.

The problem here is that while you might have thought "It looks familiar ... Like I've seen it on an Infiniti", MSL82 is busy cackling and trying to figure out how Infiniti copied it from Hyundai so he can dramatically post pictures that shows that BMW copied Hyundai by the transitive property.

BMW was first. Infiniti copied BMW. BMW is just reinventing itself.

And I don't agree. The rear of the M35 doesn't look anything like the new 5er.

The rear is not even close to the Infiniti...

To me, that's like saying the wipers look the same...

Just so we are clear, who said that the rear of the M35 LOOKS like the new 5? Having something LOOK like something and having something REMIND someone of something are two completely different things.

Well, we can't argue that.
