I have yet to see any A5 without options. Realistically, A5 are between $45-53k, but i have seen Plenty of base A4 without options.

If so, the 3.0SC is a much much better option than the 3.2L i have seen driving around.

If you want to get into "Aftermarket" argument, then it will be pointless and endless.

one can argue, "Not only you can make ANY car go fast with aftermarket parts, you put the same 1000 Euro in a 335 will have close to 400 RWHP"

Something blows up, kiss your warranty goodbye.

not true.
the ABT tuning doesn't void your warranty.
the ABT Engine Control Unit (AEC) work at 100% on the original ECU of your car.

Man let's just stop VERSUS topic. Fking annoying. What are we trying to achieve anyway??

Different cars appeal to different buyers. Some people like 335i, and some people like A5. Both cars sell pretty damn well in its tough segment.

Audi 2.0T is one of the best 4 banger engines in the market. N54 (?) is one of the best 6 cylinder engines in the market.

Good?

Right, just like how Dinan doesnt void your warranty either.

Blow the engine up and see if the dealer will cover it.

Dont fall for the marketing gimmicks.

Stasis and Dinan tunes shouldn't void your warranty. But it depends on your dealer's policy. (Some don't care, some do)

If you blow your engine with tune, can't you just flash back the stock tune? That's what MS3 owners do.

Well there are stories of BMW dealers blaming Dinan for certain failures. Then Dinan will blame BMW for the failures. So you basically caught in the middle of it going back and forth.

Who will cover the repair bill is the question.

Overall though its rare and it will depend on the dealer itself. Hell many dealers dont even care if you have any sort of tune.

WTH, You contradicted your own point.

It's not the dealer that determines if something is void, they simply read the agreement and interpret what should be covered and what shouldn't. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when they do warranty work, they bill the manufacturer for the work and have to provide a claim as to why it was a manufacturer defect as opposed to a wear/tear or owner fault issue. If the manufacturer doesn't honor the warranty work, guess who eats the bill? That's why most dealerships play it conservative when it comes to warranty work. Depending on the dealership, some go as far as requesting prior authorization for warranty repair from the manufacturer to avoid those problems.

Some dealers are cool with mods, other's aren't. that's the bottom line. Penske Audi in Covina was selling cars with Stasis packages at one point, don't know if they are anymore; however, there are many other dealers that don't give a shit about helping you out if you have mods and any minor thing that goes wrong that may be attributed to a mod, they won't honor your warranty.

Stasis has their own 4/50 warranty.

Can we break off this conversation into a Car Talk thread about BMW v. Audi?

^ Oh don't get me wrong. It's one of the hottest looking coupes in the market right now. That's for sure. I would love to get one, if they offered that S4 engine with 6-speed manual on it.

And yes, it doesn't look as aggressive as before..

But maybe it'll look much different, if I see it in person!

We all missed this ... De-tuned 3.0T available in some markets in A5

This is in addition to the 3.0T S5 with 333hp (under-rated perhaps).

So there's the mid-point some have been arguing for. Don't know if it's going to be available here and yes it's less than a 335i.

I hope they make this engine available in North America... the A5 somehow seems underpowered with the 2.0T.

Is there anything more to talk about here if we all agree to disagree??

So continue...

If you don't compare cars then there is no competition, therefore, there is no improvement. for exmaple, How do you know the 2.0T engine is good if you don't compare it with something..??

best engine? i dont know.. i believe best engines should all be N/A because FI is kinda "cheating"

Anyway the RS5 seems to be completing its snail's pace journey to the US. Let the depreciation begin.

It's definitely evolutionary. It appears that the design direction is to sharpen the edges and make it a little more aggressive. It looks good and shouldn't make the current B8.5 owners feel like they bought old designs.

Some other notes is that the RS5 is finally getting the 4.0T and dropping the 4.2.

Let's see how it plays out. I think those look far more aggressive than the 4-series. But then again they're renderings.

Audi is killing the 4.2L V8 ... We knew that. We thought they were going to supplant the 4.0T in its place. Now, who the hell know?

I think Audi is more confused than any other German brand.

Supercharger or Turbo or NA. Pick 1 and stick to it. Stop going back and forth!! so confused.

At least they're not doing the turbocharged & supercharged engines anymore.

Though I think they are looking at turbocharging because it lets them build a different engine profile than the supercharged ones. Maybe higher revving ... I honestly don't know. Audi could have no idea what they're doing ...
