But I thought the NSX was a premier supercar with excellent Honda engineering and Acura can't build them fast enough? Why do the workers have time to build a limited edition, nothing-special-but-the-paint small crossover when they are used to building high performance supercars?
Seems... weird.

The Passport is a 2 ton crossover with little off road ability and a rough ride.
The RLX doesn't exist anymore. I guess it was just too good for the masses.

it is relative to bhp. for 280bhp and non turbo engine. considering its size. Honda Passport is high performance vehicle in its category.
MDX hybrid also high performance vehicle for 7 seater and only 321bhp.

The Chevy Tahoe makes 420hp from its non-turbo motor. Therefore, it isn't just a high performance vehicle, it is a super truck.

Chevy Tahoe is very competitive but prices rising to $80K. it is getting closer to luxrious and more capable Offroaders.
Its all about price and category. You cannot expect Mclaren performance from Civic Type R as price points are widely different.
what is ground breaking about new Acura TLX is it has same turn radius as previous generation despite much wider, larger tires and wheel base with wide tracks.
just look at turn radius of wide sport cars. Alot of competitors dont publish turn radius. Acura/Honda right publish it.
look at Porsche Macan. It has shorter wheel base but longer turn radius than TLX.

This fire risk is associated with more and more vehicles presumbly with LG chem batteries. i will not buy fully electric vehicle untill solid state batteries are widely deployed.
Most people who will test drive TLX before buying it at dealer will not know major difference between V6 and this engine. plenty of oomph for 90% of people.
It didnot impact sales of RDX.
TLX you can buy with performance red pearl with beige interior while Tesla model does not give you that choice. nor i can stand this huge glass starting from back and with this big touch screen in middle. people are strained enough from computers.
Totally worthless product.

For Q2 (July-Sept), Acura incentives boosted to $6,334, while ATP basically remained flat at $40,172.
Incentive spending is slightly higher than for Lexus ($6,325) which has an ATP about $10k higher ($50,089).
Throw in the dealer discounts, and that's a lot of Acuras that can be had for cheap.

Are you sure about Hillsborough and Atherton? or for that matter Sand Hill road.
you pulled number from your ass. Just look around the used BMW and Porsches how they sell. it will tell all about why they are disposed off.
these are not actual transaction prices when almost 90% of BMW are leases? so if you cannot pay upfront on cash than dont assume the transaction price. there is alot manipulation in free maintaince, interest rates, lease return, residual values.

Only an idiot would think that people living in such ultra-wealthy enclaves would be OK with the level of luxury and appointment something like the MDX provides, much less the RLX (oops!).
When it comes to CUVs/SUVs - it's the X7, GLS, Range Rover, Cayenne and the Model X, and for those going larger, the Escalade and Yukon XL Denali, with a spattering of the G-Wagon and Bentayga.
And unlike you, don't pull anything from arses.
Geeze, you're clueless.
Porsche has the highest margins in the industry by far (aside from solely supercar makers).
Porsche makes on average, $17kon every vehicle they sell.
In contrast, how much do you think Acura made last Q after hefty $6k+ incentives despite ATP stuck at $40k?

Honda profits rose 28.5 per cent in last quarter despite drop in sales
However, the Tokyo-based company said its July-September operating profit was 282.9bn yen (Ł2.1bn), up 28.5 per cent year-on-year, despite sales revenue falling by 2.1 per cent to 3,651.3bn yen (Ł26bn).
But the German automaker has just announced it has returned to profit in the third business quarter, achieving an operating profit of 3.2 billion euros.

LMAO! !
Only someone as deluded as you would think Zuckerberg driving around in a TSX (and an older one at that) is typical for such enclaves.
Zuckerberg is also known to drive around in GTI and Prius.
He drives around in such modest vehicles to escape attention (it's like attorneys who drive to court in their other car, something like a Buick, because they don't want the jury to see them rolling up in their Benz).
But while Zuckerberg is not a car collector like Bill Gates, he still treated himself to a $2.5 million Pagani Huayra (funny how you completely forgot to mention that), and also has a custom Mercedes van when he gets driven around by his security detail.
You really think someone who owns a $150 million dollar yacht is driving a TSX or GTI or Prius if it weren't for a specific reason (to avoid attention)?
Steve Jobs didn't want to put regular plates on his car, so every 6 months he would get a new car with temp plates (either a 911 or AMG).

In places like Hillsborough, Atherton, Woodside, may see a few MDXs, but other than that, any Acura is for a kid or the nanny's vehicle (often the RX, MDX or a minivan).
Acura barely sells any vehicles in the $60k+ price-range nationwide.
There's always the exception of people who don't care about cars and just drive an old beater no matter whether they can afford something a Bentley or Rolls (or drive their bearer as their daily and have a Porsche or something even more expensive as their fun vehicle.

Its the lease and reliability that matters to people here who change vehicle often. There weekeneds are too important to deal with vehicle pick and drop at dealers. They dont care what is final price of the vehicle.
