So does anyone actually know of someone who has ordered one?

I know a few posters here a while back claim to know peeps who allegedly have deposits on an NSX, but still crickets...

Unfortunately don't know in my neck of the woods. I'm sure there may be at least a handful in the KC area though with HQ of Hallmark/Cerner/Sprint/Garmin and lots of other medium sized businesses as well....

Some posts from nsxprime for consideration...

I have communicated with more dealers than I care to admit and, based on what I have been told, the claim is not far off. Many dealers have confirmed buyers for all cars to be received during the first two years (particularly dealers that are only receiving two cars per year, which appears to be the majority of dealers). Other dealers have waiting lists stretching well beyond two years. When I made the rounds, many dealers were offering me 2019 cars as their first available.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showth...=1#post1893707

Apparently they already have 1200 orders, so I wonder if they are going to push overtime to get the first 1200 out or let it slide into next year?

That monthly sales amount is still on par to exceed what the NA2 NSX ever sold per year

If i were to buy a $200k car, NSX will be at the bottom of the list. 1 slot above 8 Accord Sport

Still exemplifying the irrational though process of someone who's never driven the NSX and so willing to trash it. You clearly are an enthusiast.

Recently tracked the GT3, Huracan and 458 Italia. 2nd time at EXR and the best $1100 bucks you'll ever spend in Vegas and I highly recommend the experience.

Looking forward to having an opportunity to drive an NSX, but so far have heard nada.

I didn't drive the 488, wanted to save it for something to look forward to on my next trip out.

The forward sightlines out of the Lambo was terrible compared to the Porsche and Ferrari. Very curious to see how the NSX stacks up in the visceral feel department.

I did some driving there too several years ago. I drove the Gallardo 550-2. I was wanting to do the 12C, but according to the site, they only have the 570S now.

I'd probably do the GT3 next. I'd be interested to see how the NSX stacks up against their fleet.

Heh.

There was another poster who said something similar in the NSX config thread....he listed a laundry list of cars he would rather get than the new NSX including: S65 AMG, i8. lol....

Wonder what else is on that list....above the Accord Sport....

Other than BoostedJack and Altegris, the two who buy everything...I can't say I know anyone here.

I mean, having not driven one and compared it to other cars in the pricepoint, dunno. I had said that for $180K and upwards, I'd be giggling for years in a McLaren. The Porsche 911 also would be a high up there on the consideration list.

Yeah, the income/wealth level for a 200k car is gonna be quite small....at least in the 1%er range. Not sure how many AZiners fit that description.

Certainly one would take a look at the McLaren and the 911 on test drives for comparison

Think I got the Huracan close to 150 on the straight, was more focused on the tach and sweaty palming the sharp right turn more than the speed on the straight. Was supposed to have 5 laps in the Aventador, but both cars were broken the day I was there so as consolation got two extra laps in the cane.

Also because I was a returning customer was able to get an extra free lap in the 458. What a thrill.

Know your saying that tongue and cheek, but I think you have to respect Acura for having the balls, making the investment and taking the risk of bringing a car like this to fruition. More choices and competition are better all the way around for dreamers and enthusiasts alike.

Truth be told, I'd much rather have a lighter, RWD, manual transmission NSX too, but begrudgingly recognize that the times change and so do regulations. Who knows, maybe Acura does bring a GT3~esque version in a few years.

That is quite the laundry list, not sure why someone would be cross shopping a luxo-barge versus a midship sports car.

Because he's rich AF.

The nsx will be his work horse. You know, tow the utility trailer, haul some manure, take the kids to baseball practice (you'd be surprised how many kids you can cram into the engine bay), carry garbage to the dump, etc.

The s65 would be his DD.

For weekend fun, he'd pull out the 120 foot yacht, equipped with a helicopter and a half dozen sea doos. That, or just crash the Paganis into one another, just for fun

Touching is deceiving.

May be it was just an empty vehicle shell, that was molded/painted like a real supercar.

saying it is on the bottom of my list if i had $200k is trashing it? It is called personal preferences. But have you driven the vaporware yet?

I would put i8 below accord sport, so it wasn't me

can't justify the price tag for a 3 cylinder supercar.. just can't.

As much of a hattter as i am, if given a choice, i would take NSX over the i8...
