That NSX is hot!!!!

I'm still a bit sad that Acura has lost its somewhat sportiness to the brand. There isn't one 2 dr car in the current lineup! The sportiest car is the TL-S.

The NSX was freaking awesome, I will buy one one day, I attend meets even though i dont own one....the fact remains that Acura wants to brings both its sportiness AND its luxury....so the fact is its going to be FE V10. Enough said.

ASK yourself this

If Acura sold a car that looked remotely as sexy as the Aston Martin DB9 with a AWD platform housing a aluminum V10 for $80-100k would you buy it?? Hell yeah.

there is your answer^^^

PS--Heyitsme.......That JDM recreation NSX has 700hp too...outta a v6.
You contradict yourself easily?

But thats like saying the next .. i dunno ...Cavalier is coming out...when it was discontiued and the name wasn't being brought back....hence Colbalt. See my point?

Next gen acura supercar.....that is what the title should be. Just my two cents. Just doen't really make to much sense as is. Not going to be RWD, no V6, and not going to look like NSX....not going to be called nsx...soooooooo yeah.

They need to stop worrying about what the competition is doing, and get something done...

Maybe they were concerned that the upcoming GTR was going to spank whatever they had planned, so they decided to start over again

Kinda late in the game to start over on somethign since the car they are replacing is already discontinued...

Looking at http://acura.com is kinda lame since there are only sedans and suvs... where's all the excitement ? They really need a flagship back in the lineup to mix things up

go with the original idea, keep it a 6 or 8 cylinder and mid engine. Just build the HSC from way back when and call it the NSX, thats all, why so hard???

^^ That's a really good idea. That does look like a logical evolution of the NSX.

I think a V10 version of the HSC would be great... and then they can spin off a V6 version for cheap bastards like me

Honda is a stubborn company and doesn't really listen to what the public thinks that's why they won't build the HSC enough said.

They will only listen when sales of a car are poor or if the car isn't catching on. Take the controversial ugly rearend of the 03-05 Accord sedan and the current RL for example.

i think they should really start to look at their business decision making process considering that it's what the public thinks that sells a car...maybe they recruited some old-school GM execs, like the ones that said, "We think the Aztek will be a kickass SUV! Who cares if the public doesn't like it? We love it, so our business decision is to build it!"

like the Accord taillight and RL example, why build it, realize you fawked up, then change it? Why not just build it the way the public would want in the first place? I can see going against the grain when there is obvious benefit (like most of BMW's current styling), but not when there isn't a strong reason to except that's what the boss's want.

I still dont see a need for a supercar in their lineup just yet.

Why dont they first make a flagship vechicle that can go up against the A8/S/LS/7.

Who knows, we might even see both a replacement NSX and a true flagship sedan for Acura soon enough.

i think acura is full of shit. excuse my language.

1. point being, honda/acura is NOT stupid.

2. they have done 2 outstanding coupes: integra/rsx

3. they know what the public wants.

4. they just like to play games, and i pretty much would put money that we see something for 08 when all the new toys come out to play, GTR, Challenger, Camaro, etc.

5. again, honda/acura is NOT STUPID. i wouldn't be suprised if they take the route SAAB has gone with their sports concept, and do something more eco friendly.

my 5 reasons for not giving up hope just yet.

That must be why Acura has the RSX and other coupes in their lineup, right?

3. they know what the public wants.
That must be why the RL is selling like hotcakes and why the element is hitting it's target demographic of "active youths", right? (if you didn't know, the element sells strongly to the older crowd). They may know what the public wants, but knowing what the public/customers want and actually delivering what the public/customers want is a totally separate animal.

Toyota knows what the public wants, but unlike Honda, they also follow through and deliver.

4. they just like to play games, and i pretty much would put money that we see something for 08 when all the new toys come out to play, GTR, Challenger, Camaro, etc.
Games sure inspire confidence from consumers, not to mention shareholders. Honda might as well just wait until 2030 and see what other manufactures offer before deciding what to design.

5. again, honda/acura is NOT STUPID. i wouldn't be suprised if they take the route SAAB has gone with their sports concept, and do something more eco friendly.
And Saab is an example of a company that Acura should inspire to be like, right?

honda/acura sells cars, argue that point? do you guys look at it from a business standpoint or just what you are hoping to see?

the RL is put into the same price range as BMW/Mercedes, but acura doesn't have the same name, even lexus has brought themselves up to be considered higher than acura.

the TL was rated best in class. the RL has been raved about, but it doesn't have the badge that people want, that's the excuse for poor selling, but that doesn't mean they made a poor car.

i think you guys are just bitter.

Are you sure you want to get into this with them? Just leave it alone, they have they're opinion and you have yours. And btw, who is arguing whether or not Honda/Acura sells cars anyway.

Don't hold your breath.

...but here's hoping Honda gets some new people @ Acura and turns the niche brand into a real competitor.

It would make sense for me to change the subject to Acura's next supercar if we were certain that the NSX name is dead. Because we are not, it's easier for people to understand what we're talking about in this thread by leaving it as the next gen. NSX.

I think what the next gen. NSX should be is very simple. It should be a Ferrary F430 beater 60% of the price. That's it. And that says it all about its hardware config.

Eh dunno. The longer Acura/Honda puts shit off the more likely consumers will go elsewhere for their next model. As it stands there's nothing in the lineup that looks even remotely appealing coming down the pipe in 2 years, which means after my warranty is up, I'm going to BMW, Lexus or Jag for my next car...

If it is a 6 yr old design, then why does Honda/Acura keep advertising "Acura Advance", seems like a lie to me then

C'mon man, you're smarter than that. That's what marketing is, a bunch of lies.

Wait is it red text or black text for sarcasm?

if it was sarcastic i hope it was to the fact that acura calls it ""advance" not the mere fact that you cannot see the obvious resemblance to the students concept from 2001.

I dont care one way or another. the whole concept got shelved anyway...just thought it was interesting

This story is also discussed on Leftlanenews.

http://www.leftlanenews.com/acura-ns...rburgring.html

It's camo'ed on a highly modified S2000 body.

Could Honda finally be making a 2+2 rwd hardtop coupe for me ??

This could also be the XGA or next gen s2000 IMHO...

Whatever it is, it appears to need 4 exhaust pipes, which would seem to indicate something big under the hood...
