Wierd static sound from speaker

I don't know how to duplicate this problem, but at random times my speaking will make static sounds that sounds like tatatatatatatata.

Does any one know what this can be attributed to?

My car is only about a month old. Any suggestions?

2003 TLS - stock.

Sounds like something is grounding out--a wire on the speaker itself or a lead to the amplifier or something. If it is only coming when the volume is up and playing with some decent bass, you may have blown the speaker itself...

Thanks for your input.

Acutally it comes on at random times, I can not figure out how to duplicate it.

Some times it makes sound even when the stereo system is off.

Some times i would drive days without hearing it. Some times i would hear it two or three times in one drive.

Very strange.

Should I take it back to dealer and have them check it out?

Bring it back to the dealer. They suppose to keep trying until they duplicate the problem & fix under warranty.

One of the mids/highs could be blown... Take it to the dealer, and it can be fixed if your still under 50,000 mile warranty..

Good point.

Between my wife and myself, we carry 3 cellphone and a blackberry. I will test them all to see what happens.

EXACTLY. take your blackberry and try to send/receive something around your computer screen/speakers and you'll see the interference. that is what is causing your problem

It's Cell Phone(s).

Try driving the car with your cell phone(s) turned off for a week see if you still have the problem.

Cheers !!!
