Rear Motion Sensors

New to the forum, I was just wondering if you needed the Navi option in order to have the rear motion sensor option. Thx in advance.

You can go to the Acura website and spec one out. I did for a non-navi and it accepted the rear sensor option, so it looks like you don't need the navi. It costs $578 + installation. Here's the link-select "build and price" http://acura.com/models/model_galler....asp?module=tl

Unhappy

Unfortunately, I did not get the Navi and have been kicking myself ever since. I would've gotten the Navi but I got such a great deal on the non-navi from my brother in law I could'nt pass it up and Navi was so difficult to find at the time I was purchasing. I have called so many places to see if I could retrofit a stock navi into a non-navi car but so far no one says they can do it. I am seriously considering selling my non-navi for a navi but I am hoping my feeling of regret will subside...

Thx for the reply and the moral of the story is not to be such a cheap arse and get the NAVI or you'll regret it

Supposedly, any TL models could come with Backup sensor option. Without Navi, it should work fine. With Navi, you could potentially add TV tuner and the rearview camera to make your car redundant and fancy... :smackhead

AFAIK the rear motion sensors are directly connected to the back-up lights. when in reverse, the sensor is powered and they do their thing and play back the results through a piezoelectric speaker

you could probably put those backup sensors on any car i think
