I am hoping that someone can help me out. I am trying to locate the factory amp in my 2006 MDX. I need to tap the speaker wires for my new amp. In previous years, it was under the center console to the left of the passengers legs. That may still be where it is at but, the wiring diagram I have from a 2003 does not match up with the plug on the small white plastic box that is mounted where I thought the amp would be. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

kwhite...So does the 06 only have one amp? That is really gonna suck if the only amp is back toward the rear as I ran 5 speaker wires from the center console to the rear headrest storage because all the info I could find on earlier years, they had two amps. One for the sub back by the sub and another under the center console.


dnd...long time no talk. Traded the truck about 3 months ago for the MDX. I miss the truck but, the X is just so awesome. Just can not beat Acura. The little one is great. Just turned 3 in May. Growing like a weed and of course, he knows everything already.

 

scratch that. my notes still show amp under center dash. subamp in the rear.

 

Found it on the firewall under the dash behind the center console. Very easy to access once you know where the heck it is.

 

So what are the plans for the system. Cause now there are a lot of swallow mount woofers out you can retain all the space in the rear.

 

Probably going to go with a shallow mount 10" in the factory spot running IB. Right now, I am just running stock speakers and sub but, that will all change. I already had amps so I thought I would try before I buy new speakers. I have a cheap amp I am putting on the factory sub this morning to see what it does.
